RAVE IF YOU THINK THE BIGOTS WHO BASH OBAMA ARE DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY!

Skeptikat 2012/07/21 17:31:56
Conservatives had their chance with 2 Bush terms and BLEW IT. Obama's first term was SABOTAGED by the same slack-jawed haters. America needs a chance to recover from Republican & Teabagger stupidity.

IT'S TIME FOR THE HATERS TO BACK OFF AND LET THE PRES DO HIS JOB!!

OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!

The So-Called Dem “Super Majority”

It's a myth that the Democrats had a "super majority" in the senate. Do the math. Al Franken was sworn in 7/6/2009 and Ted Kennedy died 8/25/2009. That's 50 days in the summer of 2009, in the middle of the healthcare debate. Senate was in session from 7/6 -8/7 before their summer recess (remember the town hall meetings) cutting the total to 32 days. Subtract weekends = 8 days, and the grand total of days Dems held power over the Senate is 24 days. The House took recess one week earlier on 8/3 .

Grand total number of days Democrats were in control of the House, Senate and White House: 19 days.

Really it's so nice to know that you know who I am without ever having met me. I suppose that you are so enlightened as to have discerned my true intentions by scrutinizing my previous posts to other polls and questions that you can unequivocally call me a bigot.

Now, that is sarcasm. Mocking would be calling you a bigot because you can't see any other way other than making marriage a legal institution and considering anyone else a bigot.

    Bigot:
i do not think that word means what you think it does

Sarcasm aside I was mocking the fact that people always say "Rave This" and then put the title all in caps as if that would make the question or poll title any more prevalent to it's subject.

    Bigot - big·ot
    n.
One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.
    -the free dictionary

Hmm. By this definition, you are also a bigot.

Not real crazy about either one.

So, your not "strongly partial" to the liberal political group? Also by your original post you imply that you are very intolerant of Republicans and "Tea Baggers". Should I define bigot again?

I think Obama is part of what is destroying this country. Bush helped too. Most government really. And extremists who are constantly bashing the opposing side. Not to mention all the ignorant and brain-washed folks in the country.

Those who hate on both sides are the problem. Whether you use terms like "LWNJ, Democrap and Obummer" or terms like "Bigot, Teabagger and slack-jawed" doesn't really matter. Both are opposite sides of the same obstructionist coin.

A point well taken. I shall edit my comment now. It was not meant as a derogatory term, instead it was meant as a quote but it is indeed inappropriate.

Here we go with the race-baiting again! Listen Skippy, just because someone is adamantly opposed to Barack Obama's policies doesn't mean they're a bigot. It might just mean they love their country and don't wish to see it turned into a socialist Nanny State!

Not that Maddog can't defend himself, but let's look at what went down here. Skepticat starts a thread saying that the bigots who are attacking the BHO are destroying the country. Maddog responds by saying "Hold on! I detest Obama, but I do so because I detest those who push socialism." You then chime in with a contextually Delphic cartoon showing a conservative who decries lack of patriotism 1) for failing to support the President Bush II in 2003 and, 2) nine years later, for supporting President Obama. Maddog responds with a statement that he doesn't get your point, and you respond with an even more Delphic cartoon carrying an ambiguous caption of "also you played the race card" - which I think intends to say "you, also, played the race card", but I'm not sure.

    At this stage of the game, I really have trouble finding anything to criticize Maddog about, other than the fact that it's probably premature to accuse BHO of trying to sell socialism to America.;

yeah, you all complain about socialism when we have already had elements of it for a very long time. to me is seems many cons unknowingly favor what is called a plutocracy. also bigots doesn't necessarily have to be about race. many of you guys call him a secret muslim and a traitor for it, and we all know how many cons feel about islam.

Your comment seems to say that I "complain" about socialism. What I said was that Maddog was premature in accusing Obama of promoting socialism; I actually made no comment whatsoever as to whether socialism is good or bad. As for whether conservatives - I self-identify as a libertarian, but I usually won't argue about being classified as a "conservative" - "unknowingly favor ... plutocracy", it just so happens that I have a very similar opinion about liberals and progressives, the major difference being that I think liberals and progressives want effectively to devalue money by creating a sort of fungible political power, which will compete with money in the contest for allocation of society's scarce resources. Of the not so unknowing ones, some progressives/liberals are prepared to embrace that re-evaluation publicly, others think they're amongst the relatively clever few who will be able to profit by their insight.

As for Obama being a Muslim, I don't think I'm a rarity amongst conservatives in thinking that Obama is whatever religion it politically profits him to be, and it's pretty hard to profit in America these days by being a Muslim; in the politics business Christianity still sells best and that's what BHO is. As to how conservatives feel about Islam, my basic thoughts are expressed on my profile and, essentially are that I, although personally agnostic, take offense at what I feel is an undue hostility by liberals/progressives towards Christianity, a hostility I don't currently perceive as being held against Islam.

Bottom line? I'm pretty comfortable w/ my original comment.
