The So-Called Dem “Super Majority”

It's a myth that the Democrats had a "super majority" in the senate. Do the math. Al Franken was sworn in 7/6/2009 and Ted Kennedy died 8/25/2009. That's 50 days in the summer of 2009, in the middle of the healthcare debate. Senate was in session from 7/6 -8/7 before their summer recess (remember the town hall meetings) cutting the total to 32 days. Subtract weekends = 8 days, and the grand total of days Dems held power over the Senate is 24 days. The House took recess one week earlier on 8/3 .

Grand total number of days Democrats were in control of the House, Senate and White House: 19 days.

In the book "The Amateur" the author interviews Jeremiah Wright. Wright said it himself, he was Obama's pastor for twenty years. He knows Obama very well. He says that Obama offered him lots of money to stop preaching. Jeremiah Wright said it.... I didn't. He is not sure that Obama is a transformed Muslim.

Repugs and teabuggers are always conflicted. They rant against the very things that they are taught in church to do. Help the poor. Heal the sick. Help the elderly. Teach the unemployed. Love their neighbors, even if they are Mexicans. This makes them sick, twisted people.

Conservative does not equal Christian, it just equals votes. I am a Christian and am a liberal for those very reasons that you cite. They use Christianity but there are so many that aren't.

Hmm, we are typically at other ends of the spectrum, I'm trying to see what you might be thanking me for. I do usually say that extremists on either side lose any focus on any type of reality. But "you're welcome" (I hate how it's so difficult to connect the posts).

You know, it's offensive when conservatives (or anyone) call Obama that as if anyone who voted for or supports him (even though we all should because he is President of the United States). As a Christian, I find it extremely offensive. No one thinks that, it's just rhetoric from the right, but any Christian should use caution in saying that in regards to a human.

The creator of this poll must have missed the first two years of Obama's Presidency. Democrats had control of the White House, the congress and the senate. Even with complete control they failed to pass a budget (the Democratically controlled senate still hasn't passed one). They forced Obamacare through and the majority of Americans feel part or all of it should be repealed.

Obama's done more damage to this country in 3 1/2 years than all other presidents before him combined. His policies have slowed our recovery and it will take us a long time to reverse the damage done by this administration.

I get it, like Romney has to be blamed for outsourcing after he left Bain, just as he takes credit for Bain creating jobs after he left. Or that he is to be blamed for outsourcing when he "saved" the Olympics, during which the uniforms made in Burma. Or when he suggested that Romneycare as implemented in Mass. would be a good national model.

The only person who sabotaged the first term of Obama was Obama. All he really had to do to win everyone over was to tell the truth to the American public, but unfortunately he does not know the meaning or importance of truth. And get this straight for once, most folks are not against Obama, it is his outrageous policies they detest.
