In a Utopian world you could get away with doing that but not in the real world. There really are people and nations that want to destroy and conquer. So you can live in a fantasy world and hope it never happens or you can live in the real world and wish for the best but prepare for the worst.

while i do agree with your statement, but when we spend more than the next 10 Nations combined, i think we can take some of that money and help people, dont you? Or do you think we need to spend more? There is a line in a movie that i like called Head of State with Chris Rock, when they were in a debate and the republican challenger said he was a amateur and should not be trusted with the office of president.

I'm sorry to say that there are some nations out there that just don't like us. To them we are already the enemy regardless of what we do. I would rather be prepared then hope that they will not try and kill us. We hear Chinese military leaders calling the US their enemy, we hear the president of Iraq doing the same. Then, of course, is that crazy little man in North Korea that is always trying to push the envelope. Not to mention organizations like Al Qaeda and other radical groups. We are the big boy on the block and because of that we have a target painted on our backs. If we refuse to recognize that we are just making bigger targets of ourselves.

It must be hard to be so fearful. Why would the Chinese attack US? They make all our stuff. Everyone else just a bunch of little dogs that bark loud. Stop pretending like you don't know the US uses people and organizations with "dirty hands" to assist in its economic interest.

i cant say i remember, all i can say on this subject is what i was taught as child and as a kid whose family was very much into supporting and empowering the black community of Watts and South Central, in fact two of my uncles were members. I also can speak on what i found out by doing my own research as i got older. But i bet you wont here any republicans commenting on my posting or yours?

i think it should be spent on all, not just the poor. this countries view of "poor" is pathetic. the only way to get help is to sit on your lazy arse and do nothing, or pop out babies.....noone wants to help the average american working two jobs and still cant afford to feed their kids. the poor has been helped enough, what about the middle class?

section 8 housing, ramin noodles and hotdogs every night for dinner, yeh i been there. you know what it was like being a white kid living in section 8 housing during the 90's?
im not saying dont help the poor, but the problem here is they are the only ones getting help and most of them dont even try to better their selves because they are living for free and dont have any means to better themselves. there should be home visits, drug tests, required amount of legitimate applications and interviews, there should be a push for results instead of just handing them out because your poor, help should be more open to higher income people that work themselves to death to barely get food on their table for their children. but lets breed soldiers not scientists, its the american way!

Do you know what it was like for a black Kid living in a all white suburb, i can tell you not to joyful, how is that in comparing personal histories. Plus i have never met any one during my life time where they popped out more kids just to get more welfare. News flash for ya, you aint living high on the hog. Oh and i knew plenty of kids who lived in section 8 housing or the projects who are white and guess what nothing happened to them. Maybe you opened your mouth and started to insult them, like you are now and that promptly closed it for you. Maybe next time when you are in that situation you will learn to talk about people in a respectful way?

actually ive had people break it down for me how they have several children and share claiming them with other family members not only for taxes but for state assistance as well. its actually very clever, and very easy.

as for section 8 and suburbs, i understand same shyt goes on, but isnt that the point here? when are you gonna stop hanging what happen over 50 years ago over our heads and realize that just as many low income white people live just as shytty as low income minorities and just as many high income minorities live just as wealthy as high income white people, if one get help then all should! All these NAACP, and BET, and african american rec centers and churches and schools and what not go completely and 100% against what your forefathers such as MLK gave their lives to teach! what happen to equality?
