There's a line from an old 2Pac song: "We have Money for War, but can't feed the Poor"--damn right I think so, doesn't mean our war-mongering Government will do it, because HELPING folks would be socialism, lol

What kind of world would it be if all the countries did this including the ones that seem to think building bombs is keeping up with the super powers. I think that the ones who benefit the most from bombing others should pay for the bombs themselves and the poor should be allowed to benefit from the things you list. Unfortunately some soldiers come from working class and poor backgrounds and see the army or armed forces as a way to move up, it is also unfortunate that some of those soldiers end up being disabled and poor. In the UK (I don't know about the US) there are going to be redundancies and regiments disbanded. If any one is looking for mixed signals these days you are spoiled for choice because we are surrounded by them.

lol, those conservatives were wrong. The soviet union spent a lot more of their GNP than we did so they fell faster. We are spending a smaller portion so it is killing us a lot more slowly.

However, Jesus did say "You will always have the poor among you, and you can help them any time you want." And we should help the poor. But Jesus has been correct for nearly 2000 years, when He said "You will always have the poor among you." God bless those who have helped the poor. Unfortunately, those who try to eradicate poverty will never succeed.

Yes, because the people who are suffering - not because of their own choices, but because the "job creators" want all of the power and none of responsibility - obviously deserve to suffer.

Thank you for your insight, corporate apologist.

Pre-invasion of Iraq, that country had 10,000 free clinics and hospitals, free education for all, and a free military. How? In spite of living under a dictator, that country's oil revenues paid for everything. Iraq's resources were for all Iraqis, regardless of status.

America has numerous resources, all tapped by big corps, and all profits going for those big corps and CEOs. American citizens get nothing except fluctuating prices at the pump. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Just think of the free healthcare, exemplary education system, modernized infrastructure if only 15% of this country's resources actually went to the well being of its citizens. This is OUR land. Yet, the Republican Party insists on protecting those big corps and getting rid of the EPA so they can once again pollute our air even more and foul our water ways, and expect tax payers to clean it up.

Republican politicians think we need to be spending even more on the military. And until we make that mindset a sure recipe for losing badly in elections, it will continue.

Unfortunately there is no return for helping the needy. Bombs and bullets can give a government the false sense of security and even be used to overthrow a country and it's people all the while stealing as much of that country's resources as possible and or even charging them to clean up the mess. Look to the UN for your answers we've been doing their bidding ever since it's inception.

But the people in power of America are owned by the people who make bombs and bullets, and their lobbies are the most powerful in the nation.
Besides we the people want things that way, because we keep voting for people who involve America in war, after war, after war.
We never vote for people who want Peace, well like the Green Party, no, we call the green party a bunch of communists because that's what our democratic and republican leaders tell us they are.
Anyone who wants peace must be a communist according to those who promote war, and those who promote war are our political leaders all the time.
I would say that's the problem of the people, not the government, because we the people put them there!!!!!
We the people don't know what we want, so we elect others to decide for us!

Yupp, many people like you are going to do the same thing, they will vote for the lesser of two evils in their mind. And that's ok, because you have to live with the results of that decision, and well so do the rest of us who voted for the Green party.
Myself, I have to have a satisfied mind to live my life, and I have to know I did the best possible for America by voting for people that have a better solution for America and all of it's people, even if the majority didn't.
As we see America isn't doing so good under the voting for the lesser of two evils, but it's your right to vote your mind, and good luck with that logic my friend.

Greens advocate direct democracy as a response to local needs and issues where all concerned citizens can discuss and decide questions that immediately affect their lives, such as land use, parks, schools and community services. We would decentralize many state and federal functions to the county and city level and seek expanded oversight and decision-making power of local governing bodies, such as neighborhood boards and associations, over issues that pertain to their jurisdiction.

Like America started out, local governing, not federal cookie-cutter one-for-all type government.
Because everyone, and every place is different, and has different needs.

Democrats and republicans have had their time ruling America, and look where we are as a nation today.
    Time for something better.
That's why I'm with the Green Party.

Mitch, who's running the country right now certainly not the GOP who's the President Mitch? Who invaded Libya Mitch? come on Mitch wake up it's not the GOP. It's your buddy Obama who promised to put an end to all wars when elected then in fact started 3 more. Put your hate for the GOP aside for a minute at research the facts Mitch Obama is still spending money on Bombs and bullets and even saved some to use against the citizens of the US no matter what their political stance is should their be an uprising. I suggest staying off the streets mitch should this happen I doubt they're going to give a rats ass who you voted for

Amen. Obama aside, too many people in this country forget that the only reason they're free to whine about military spending is because of the fact that we've maintained our military at such a high level. Like it or not, all our bullets and bombs are the reason this country hasn't been attacked by any other military since WWII and a big part of the reason there have been no major wars any where in the world.

Anyone with any intelligence should know this, but as usual the war makers have many ways of convincing/confusing the masses and pushing our countries into un-needed/unwanted/immoral/ illegal wars! Unfortunately the dark side of Patriotism and religions have been used way to often to push the human race into its dark side and quite likely will be ol undoing!

It is our Country's military budget that people should be angry about. Not tax dollars being spent helping our nation's poor to survive.
