POLL: Rave if you think Christian Fundamentalists have become the American Taliban by trying to take over politics and force ALL Americans to live by their RULES

From the Urban Dictionary: Christian Taliban

These are fundamentalist Christians who believe in establishing a theocratic state based on Biblical doctrine. Most of the world's Christian Taliban reside in the mid-western and southern United States of America. A growing ethnic minority in the region, these populations tend to be poorly educated, isolationist, and fun-loving in the great tradition of the late 17th century (they advocate flogging of children, burning of witches, stoning for various and sundry offences, and greeting foreigners with a cheery "You're going to Hell, praise God!"). For some inexplicable reason, they are also fascinated with all matters sexual: homosexuality, human reproduction, "man-on-dog," and so forth. A visitor to the Christian Taliban homeland should note that these topics never fail to "break the ice" and elicit spirited conversation with the locals.
News report, year 2020:

"Although much progress has been made in the past year, there are stillChristian Taliban reported hiding in the mountainous regions of northern Georgia. Chief among those wanted for human rights violations is Mullah James Dobson, whose Family Research Council issued a statement carried last week by redneck-language television network Fox News promising death to all infidels...this was prefaced by the beheadings of a lesbian couple..."

Why are you leftists so angry? Why are you so intellectually impotent as to post questions with all the same answers? What happened in your lives to make you hate the One who created you with such vile, vengeful malice? Are you that way with your parents? What dopey premise do you come up with in your minds (because it certainly isn't factual) to hate Christians who raise families, pay taxes, and peacefully enjoy their faith, family and friends?

I feel sorry that you are stuck in your angry minds....but I guess your minds are just atoms and molecules bouncing around to form chemical reactions that began millions of years ago from the evolutionary sludge with no design, destination or purpose.

Then why would you even blog? Hmmmmm

I know, so impossible for creation to be created by a Creator.

    Much more likely:

Like there was nothing man. Nothing? Yeah man, nothing! And then there was like this "big bang" thing that sent matter rocking throughout the universe. What's the universe? It's the place where big bang banged out to. Isn't a place "something"? Well sort of, not really, anyway, this stuff get's banged out there and becomes gasses and planets. What caused it to "bang"? Well there was this concentrated kind of stuff that exploded. Well isn't "stuff" "something"? Well, yeah it is. I thought you said there was nothing? Yeah well you just have to have faith in science. So faith is okay as long as it is scientific? Yeah you know, scientist and all that stuff. So was that a long time ago? Yeah! millions maybe billions of years ago. Really? How do we know that? The scientists, man. They did tests to see how old the universe is and it's millions of years old. Really? How did they prove that? They tested their theories, man. So they found something that they KNEW is millions of years old and tested it against something they "thought" was millions of years old and it turned out exactly the same? No man, nobody has anything they KNOW is millions of years old. Then how did they prove their theory?

C'mon man, when it comes science, you have to have a little faith!

    I got it....thanks

There is a big difference between you and I.

The important difference between science and religion is that religion comes with ABSOLUTE statements, that neither can be proved or disproved, and science evolves from relative truths and statements, that can be testified and proven false (which means: science has to develop, in order to replace (partly) untrue theories, and replace them with better ones).

Science does not claim it has absolute knowledge on anything. Religion claims it has.

All scientific theories are in principle disprovable, and in the end all theories will be disproven (at least it can be shown there is a limiiting case in which the theory does not work).

Religion can in principle not be disproven. Which does not contribute either to it's proof. It is also unprovable.

if something is neither provable nor disprovable, then it is useless.
It can only have value to people who prefer to be ignorant, and don't want to get into complicated knowledge, and prefer to believe in something that is disprovable.

Science is for people that realize that in order to aquire knowledge, some work (sometimes a LOT) has to be done! And even despite you put in a LOT of work, someone else my disproof all (or part) of your work! That is : you have to try even harder!

Religion is for people who claim to know EVERYTHING ABSOLUTELY ("God created the world", for instance ) without having done any work to get to that opinion, and for which nobody can give any disproof. So it is a very safe position. You don't have to do WORK for entitling yourself an opinion on matters that seem important, and nobovy can force you to do some work for finding a better opinion, cause there lacks the ability to disproof you.

You actually have some truths mixed in here. But the reality is faith by definintion means you don't KNOW anything for sure, but you BELIEVE in a Higher Power. You are intellectually honest when you say science still leaves room for error and what we believe in science indeed requires a kind of faith itself. Most "science only" people act as if all scientific knowledge is indisputable.

    There's hope for you Che

A Fundy Christian told me just the other day that the USA is a Christian country and all us heathens need to either get baptised or get out before we get kicked out. When I asked her about the First Nations (Native Americans, American Indians), she thought for a second, then said, "They can convert if they want to stay." Then, with a smirk at me, "So can you."

Also, in the picture of the book, the Sikh turban on the guy on the left should be replaced with a Taliban turban. We Sikhs don't believe in forcing or coercing people in any matter of belief. Or in anything else, for that matter.

Taliban controls with fear. The laws of men against said people uses fear too.

Romans 13:10:Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

1 Peter 3:9:Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

Religions, and Taliban do not keep those verses, and many more. They are related. The condemning military that the government supports is connected being the same in spirit too. You are looking at the worse to you than to them sodomites, KJV, Genesis 19: 9, and the warlike pre flood people to dangerous to be in close proximity to whoever in Noah's boat. and religions wanting death , Mark 14:1-9 KJV , John 12;10, western religion for the most part is responsible for why terrorists are the way they are, and why we even have a military in the first place. All kill of the soul of whoever that bows down to them.

As someone who is from another country and sees some of your candidates for President, and the theatrics around election time, I wonder why the electorate buys into this stuff. Some of the politics and remarks by your politicians are surprising to say the least, and they go way off policies to me, what as being gay got to do with the economy? If politicians were about morals we would call them something else, but politicians seem to be very wealthy and courting big business these days. They also talk big and don't deliver, politicians aren't famous for giving out the right message.

I think you should have more political parties that would give the major parties and leaders something to think about. I think your politicians don't do any good by slagging off each other, stick to policy, stick to what people care about. Not scaremongering and moralising. I see some of your politicians speeches and sometimes its a bit scary.
