We also know that this isn't the first time that Muslims were shown to heavy protests when their religion is put in a bad light in media, so to assume that the protests had something to do with the attacks wasn't outside of the purview of someone well-versed on the issue.
We also know that was the first report to come into the White House, as it was the first report to come into ANYWHERE.
We do know that, as time elapsed over that 24-hour period, there were many other stories that came into light. But, to think it was ONLY a terrorist attack at work, you'd be hard-pressed to prove that.
Yes, it was a terrorist attack, but there were protestors on site, as well. Ask the New York Times, who had journalists ON SITE during the night of the attack, if there were any protests sparked by the anti-islam film on the grounds that night-- they'll say there were. So, why would anyone say that the protests didn't have anything to do with the attacks?

Protests were going on and someone knew they would, and took advantage for a terrorist strike or planned the strike in advance and somehow had the coincidence of there being protests that day, but... they both were going on at the same time.
Biden isn't lying about what happened and how the got their information of what happened. Somehow, there's just a lot of GOP pundits trying to spin things so that we forget all about Ryan and Romney planning to make abortion illegal.
