Rand Paul introduces bill for amendment that would disarm the FDA, which recently dispatched armed agents to arrest an Amish farmer for selling milk directly from the cow. Yay or nay?

Government needs to mind their own damned business. We play worlds police force with the military, now homeland security, FDA and all the other 3 letter agencies are trying to play U.S. police force. Needs to stop. States need to stand up to these jack booted hoods.

A good step in stopping a government that's getting out of control.

They are abusing the law in the first place...it was intended for grievance offenses not the Amish! Good bye, common sense, bye, bye.

I feel very bad for the entire Amish community this milker lived in because they were all affected. Their way of life is far from the way we live. I am positive this experience was very traumatic for them. Not to mention it was completely over the top considering who they were doing a raid on! This not not some mexican drug cartel!!!

It was about milk for pete sake!!!!

This thug government is going after everyone....Gibson guitar? Really? Yeah, get the makers of guitars as well......after all, they did give some money to the Repubs. But the Amish? They just get off on their own power. Sickening.

    But like anything else ..
it won't go anywhere in the Senate ..
Reid (and the partisan nature) has effectively killed everything that made any sense at all.

Why the bloody hell is the FDA armed with a swat team? And isnt this outside of their jurisdiction? The FDA isnt meant to enforce the "law" (I never agree with administrative law). Just approve or disapprove of substances that we consume.

It seems as though the Pauls are on the side of the American people and the constitution. Let's support Rand and Ron and God bless them.

Yay and nay?? Unpasteurized milk can make you very sick...as long as you know how to properly do that, it's ok to buy it fresh from the amish, but at the same time, not everyone knows to do that so the FDA does serve a purpose, but at the same time, common sense should prevail. Living in amish country...I'm undecisive on this.

I'm not sure they need to carry arms, though. If it was a special situation like a pot farm or animal rustling, the police would be involved. They have guns. And yes, I'm a hunter. I always thought it was supposed to be an ag assistance and promotion agency. I wonder if this farmer warned his customers or not?

Raw milk is only dangerous if contaminated or ages for too long. Its perfectly fine to drink as long as you are not overworking the cows with hormones, and milking them till they bleed and pus comes out of the udder.

The pasteurization process is primarily to cook any contaminates in the milk, like the pus and blood that comes from overworked cows. Or essentially they are just hiding the fact that they are selling you rotten contaminated milk. Besides, I'm far more concerned of the potential affects of BGH on a human being than any risks of raw milk.

Instead of the FDA getting in the way, I think people should just become informed and make their own choice. People need to take responsibility rather than outsourcing their cognitive processes to political (not scientific) organizations.
