Racism and Profiling

I am a little amazed on this Gates thing. The 911 caller was being called a racist for supposedly saying that 2 black men with back packs were possibly breaking into a house. She lawyered up to defend herself. This report turned out to be false. On the 911 call, she did not know or say that they were black.
And Sgt Crowley in his report said that he talked with the caller and said that he was told 2 black men were inside. (There is some finger pointing here because the 911 recordings verify that she did not call them black on the call but she may have, while standing in front of the house waiting for Sgt Crowley, saw that they were black and told him that.)
My question is: Why does this matter? Since when is calling a black man black racist? They were (or at least Gates was) black. Every time I fill out a government form, it asks me what race I am. Even for a library card.
Was it racist for the 911 caller to say that maybe one was Hispanic? Was it racist for Sgt Crowley to be reported by reporters as white?
Should we make it illegal to use race as a description? Should we stop collecting all racial data on government forms?
You!

You are asking good questions here. In my opinion neither the caller nor the officer are racists in this incident. The media reporting the officer being white was not racist but their accusations against the caller and the officer being racist are clearly racist. Obama and other so called black leaders are clearly racist for exploiting the simple incident to promote racism.
The government documents should not ask for race and neither should application for employment.

In my opinion all words and phrases and all ethnic jokes however distasteful should not ever be used to level charge of racism. In short there should never even be such charge. If racism was not used to promote racism people would eventually get over it.
