Wait a minute, one religious leader criticising the religious leaders of another faith? Holy heretics!!! I understand what the good Rabbi meant and I can agree with the principle of seeing an ancient order of men as wanting to control everybody's reproductive rights in order to birth more believers and more fully cement their authority. Still, I have to consider the source - what is it that the great teacher, the rabbi, think of his own faith?

A little harsh. I agree with the first part however, the 2nd point about a woman's body is pure oppinion. Science has pretty much proven that baby's are viable at about 4 months!!! I bet as science progresses it will be earlier and earlier. Abortion for many people is a genocide. The womans rights for her body is a great cop out to not wanting to be bothered and wanting to keep your head in the dirt about murder. There are sooo many reliable forms of birth control in the modern age that abortion should simply be for rape. It should become an archaic relic much like dungeons and guillotines. They are simply put for those woman who are too lazy to be responsible. That it is her body is negated by...no it is 50/50 hers and the baby's and I bet the baby votes for life. Ties are non decisions.

I wasn't just talking about abortion but other contraceptives like birth control. The Catholic Church is against all forms of birth control and they only approve of abstinence. Also, I've never heard "that baby's are viable at about 4 months." Where have you gotten this information? At sixteen weeks a fetus is less than five inches and I highly doubt would have any chance of surviving outside of the womb. Condoms, birth control, the morning after pill, and other forms of contraception all have a chance of failing. There are also many cases where access to birth control and sex education is lacking. Over half of all abortions occur before nine weeks and 88% occur at twelve weeks and before. And the person who is pregnant gets 100% of the vote because it is their choice to continue or terminate a pregnancy.
