Didn't Reagan wear a suit into the Oval Office, even on Saturdays when no one was around just because he felt that office was due that kind of respect?
Oh yes progressives, liberals, and media, your savior, a jester mocking all that we once held sacred with all of you puppets, dangling at his fingertips trying to glimpse his dance.
Obama is not cool.
How about lets say you already have a home and you live in a neighborhood - your neighborhood covenance is no longer run by your neighborhood b/c the gov't will have total and final say so on what your by-laws are in every neighborhood. Or, lets say you don't live in a neighborhood but you own land - guess what not anymore b/c according to this new bill going through the senate - IF the gov't decides they need it or if they decide what your doing on your land is harmful to the enviroment they my friend can kick you out and bull-doze it down.

Businesses will have to "go green" - in this bill - the congress acknowledges there will be "millions" of jobs lost and has put in provisions to allow longer unemployment. The also acknowledge that jobs will be sent over seas in order for some companies to stay in business.
This bill enforces the same building codes Nation wide that California lives by. Your freedom to build a home for your family will be up to the government. How about this - if you decide to sell your home - you may only do so if your home passes the government energy standard. You will have to apply to the government for approval to sell your house. If it isn't up to energy standards (that is ALL appliances, windows, doors, etc.) they will fine you and give you a short period of time in which you MUST spend the money to get it energy efficient at which point they will grant you an approval to sell YOUR house. Your freedom to pick up and sell your house will be gone because the government will make this decision.
If you haven't read this bill they are about to vote on you should b/c it boils down to one issue FREEDOM. If it is passed - more of your freedoms will be taken.
"Go green" is a bit broad. What exactly are we going to have to do in this regard? And how many jobs will be created in "green" industries?

Here’s a link to a summary of HR 2454 written by the Congressional Research Service
http://www.govtrack.us/congre...
And an excerpt from the summary that references residential properties (which doesn’t tend to indicate that there’s any “governmental approval” required prior to selling a home.
Amends the Energy Conservation and Production Act to revise energy conservation standards for new buildings. Requires the Administrator to establish: (1) standards for a national energy and environmental building retrofit policy for residences; and (2) a building energy performance labeling program. Establishes a rebate program to assist low-income households residing in pre-1976 manufactured homes in purchasing new Energy Star qualified manufactured homes.
I think you’re just catastrophising over this bill……..
