PUBLIC OPINION > Zombie Costumes Trump Charlie Sheen

SodaHead News 2011/10/28 21:00:00
Every year, pop culture produces a new pallet of clever costume ideas. Last year Lady Gaga and Snooki were on top. This year's top pop disguise was no surprise -- Charlie Sheen, purveyor of the preposterous and coiner of such winning phrases as "Adonis DNA" and "Vatican assassin warlock." But the King of Crazy still couldn't take down the No. 1 costume of the year...

Zombies.

Which Popular Halloween Costume Is Your Favorite This Year?

28% Prefer Zombie Costumes

The hordes have spoken. Keep your brains in your back pocket on Monday, because even with timely subjects like Sheen and Steve Jobs in the mix, more than a quarter of voters picked the living dead as their favorite costume of the year. A few words of advice for nervous trick-or-treaters: Aim for the head and don't stop moving.

Charlie vs. Zombies

Charlie #Wins With Men

It looks like most of the zombies this year will be women. Men actually prefered the Charlie Sheen idea over zombies by a couple percent (32% Sheen, 30% zombie). But 20% of women also dug the Sheen idea, so expect to see some diverse Charlies in the crowd. (Zombie Sheen, anyone?)

Books and Braaaiiiiins!

College is filled with zombies -- and we don't mean that figuratively. Half of college students said they preferred zombie costumes, and college-aged voters (18-24) lead the age demographic for zombies. If someone comes up with an antidote, you know where to send it.

Lurching Across the Aisle

Political parity is hard to come by as election year approaches, but conservatives and liberals are in agreement over one thing: Zombies. Both parties favored the living dead at 31% and 33% respectively. Moderates, progressives, and libertarians all preferred Charlie Sheen.

I find the term "zombie" to be racist and intolerant. They should be termed " the mortally challenged"...

It deserves to be the top comment. What that person is saying is that the term "zombie" is derogatory to the undead. They are suggesting we use the term "mortally challenged". It's a joke, and it is funny!

A group of college students or something that like are making a campaign about people dressing up as offensive things like a terrorist with a bomb etc. The phrase "I'm a culture, not a costume" comes from their posters.

    I m a culture not a costume
    I m a culture not a costume

Some of the are understandable, but some are kinda silly.

I think it's some dude dressed as Edward, but honestly I'm so sure why it's offensive. Is it because the other girl is dressed to look like a sterotype too? I have no clue.

I think this is the one problem with the campaign: is it wrong for people to dress up just to have fun on Halloween? It's kinda like how they got a campaign picture of someone dressed up as a geisha. Maybe this explain it:

    i m a culture not a costume geisha
So I guess it's basically about different race of people who don't like when white people dress up as a stereotype...?

People sure waste a lot of time and money worrying about what other people do. It IS OKAY to make fun of stereotypes. It is funny.

Hey! He gave then a hell of a run. One man mad effort to unseat a classic. Too bad he failed at that too. I am affraid he is not "winning" as he predicted. I like Charlie but he can be trying. I am sorry he is off 2 1/2 Men but he rode that horse right out of town..

HEHE but...but.... I like that series.....actually I do. (esp the fact that Norman Reedus) is part of the cast.

And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

If Anthony Hopkins was in it, you might have a point.Norman Reedus was only great in one thing:

Well the Boondock Saints was great, no problem there.Just uhh...until The Walking Dead has a crazy mad scientist who teaches a zombie to become human again in an underground base that eventually gets attacked, like in Day of the Dead...I'll stick to the far more innovative movies.
