PUBLIC OPINION > Teacher Who Did Porn Shouldn't Be Fired!

A junior high teacher in Southern California was recently placed on leave when administrators found out she may have been in movies. Adult movies. The details are vague, as they should be, but we'll give you what we know: It was probably her (an administrator saw it and confirmed), it was probably somewhat recent (though it's unclear if she was employed at the school while it was filmed), and pretty much every kid at the school knows about it (the superindenent told them not to look it up, so they totally did.) With that, we let the public do the talking and asked if she deserved to be fired.

Most people agree the teacher in question should remain employed, even those who admitted they didn't like the idea. As long as she wasn't bring it up in class, it's simply not relevant to the job. One commenter wrote, "She should not be fired, but maybe transferred to another school. Unless there is something in her contract that forbids doing porn, then they shouldn't fire her." The superintendent, on the other hand, received a good deal of criticism. The kids might not even know about it if he hadn't ordered the rest of the teachers to announce it. Sure, word gets around, but did they really need to air it out like that? Bad move, Mr. Chancer.
Men Don't Mind

Overall, approximately one in three voters thought she should be fired. But when we broke it down by gender, the results looked very different. Close to half of female voters called for the ax (44%), while only one in four men did the same (27%). The implication here is pretty obvious... Men are more concerned about education. (What did you think we were gonna say?)
Moderates Mind the Most
Interestingly, conservative voters did not have the most traditional opinion. They were much more likely to have her fired than liberals, but moderates had them beat by a good 9%. We wish we had an explanation for that, but we don't. Moderates just don't want porn stars teaching their kids.

Speaking of "their kids," we had to throw parents in on this one. They were more likely to advocate firing the teacher than most, but unlike moderates they still fell below a majority vote (47%). And for good measure, we also took a look at the student vote. They're willing to give her another chance.

I see zero problems with this unless she is using her school outfit from one of her shoots to teach in, and even then I wouldn't mind, at least I'd be paying attention to something.
