Public Opinion Says We Shouldn't Have a Saggy Pants Ban [INFOGRAPHIC]

SodaHead Infographics 2011/10/10 20:00:00
A couple weeks ago, we asked SodaHeads what they thought about the increasingly popular saggy pants ban. A small Georgia town was the first to crack down on conspicuous cracks last November, but after reporting nearly $4,000 in fines related to the ban over the last year, a couple of Florida towns have adopted similar bans.

Though a slight majority voted against the bans, we did uncover some interesting statistics. For instance, in Florida and Georgia, where saggy pants have already been banned in some towns, there was majority support for the bans. We also got some financial perspective on the $200 fines Georgia has been handing out.

So pull up your breeches and peep this week's infographic. Let's dive.

If they want to look like idiots, let them. They do nothing but perpetuate a negative stereotype.

People here in Florida will sag whether you charge them or not. I've seen10 year old kids sagging and they aren't charged! Only people out of school property are charged and they have to be 17 maybe 16 or older. ( If they are 16 or 17 their guardians are charged. I personally do not care whether you sag or not, but I don't like these youngsters avoiding the law).

Everyone should be able to express themselves how they feel necessary

Ok so when someone walks outside naked they are expressing themselves so don't call the cops to arrest them for indecent exposure. Oh and who cares if little kids see it right? I, and many others, don't wanna see butt crack.

    Nutter liberals.

Baggy yes, but saggy is more the fashion of those that have found themselves incarcerated. Sort of a jail house booty call.

People have a right to be individuals and what right does people or government have to tell people how to dress?

Ok, then women should be able to walk around with no tops on. I mean, where are people's sense of dignity? I don't wanna see some guy/girl's butt crack. These kids need to respect others. I call this type of stuff visual pollution.

Hell no there should be no baggy pant bans! Those that chose to wear their britches around their ankles are the same who most often run from law enforcement! It would make police have to be a lot fitter and more crooks would escape if everyone pulled up their pants!

If you're going to have a saggy pants ban then you might as well also have a dirty great big fat bastard ban. They're just as visually offensive.

Normally, fashion trends aren't indicative of who a person is. However, sagging pants happens to be one of the trends that is. A lot of gangs use this kind of style. Other people who are into this style out right have some kind of attitude problem towards life, adults and/or authority. I am not talking about the pants that sag an inch and show a little bit of underwear, but the ones that sag really low to the point it is ridiculous or the ones that it isn't the underwear showing.

However, I don't think it is right to ban this fashion trend. Some of the kids, the one who let it sag an inch aren't doing anything wrong and when done right, it isn't a disgusting trend. Then again, I am not sure if one inch actually constitutes shagging or not.
