Public Opinion Says Accidentally Bringing Pot Brownies to Work Is Hilarious [INFOGRAPHIC]

SodaHead Infographics 2011/09/07 23:00:00
Last week we asked SodaHeads what they thought about a woman who accidentally brought "special brownies" to work. Was it a laughing matter or a horrible mistake?

Here's a quick recap of the original story:

After divulging on the chocolate treats, three of the co-workers said they started feeling lightheaded, numb and disoriented and were taken to the hospital.

Investigators later found that the brownies were of the marijuana variety. It turns out, the co-worker's son had baked the pot brownies about a year ago -- nasty, we know -- and put them in the freezer, only to be discovered by his mother a year later and brought into the office.

The majority of people who responded, and there were a lot of you, thought the story was hilarious, so we've sent out notices to all of your employers informing them you might be under the influence of marijuana at work.

Just kidding! Your secret is safe with us.

But we did dig into your responses to look for interesting trends, and took a quick dip into the government's database to fill you in on some big-picture statistics.

Let's dive.

Duuuude? Funny to get people high accidentally? More evidence America has headed in the wrong direction.

We don't mind if we get people high on illegal drugs, but don't dare knowingly smoke a cigarette or cigar at work.

I have tried pot and it's not as fun as it seems. -_- 2. Yes I have laughed at something that was misfortunate for another. What you seem to fail to realize is that pot is a dangerously addictive drug. I was lucky enough to not get hooked because I HATED what it did to my body! I think that your opinion is totally nonsensical, childish and I really doubt you ever put much (valuable) thought it XD (Yes I copied your words on purpose)

"...dangerously addictive" and "I was lucky enough to not get hooked"? Are you serious? Where is your proof that pot is "dangerously addictive"? I've smoked pot and I'm not addicted. Never was. I come from a family with a history of addicition, for example, my father is an alcoholic as is his sister. Even with my mental history of depression and OCD, I am able to smoke marijuana whenever and not NEED it again later. Human systems don't become dependent on pot like they do other drugs like alcohol, heroin, cocaine, etc. You should be more educated on something you ingest BEFORE you ingest it, like when you smoked pot. If you were as intelligent as you purport yourself to be, you would know to research something before you put it into your body.

Pot is much safer than alcohol. I would much rather be around someone smoking pot than someone drinking alcohol. Do I believe people in a position of responsibility, like a parent or someone at a particular job, should smoke pot? No. I don't think they should. It should be done in a responsible manner and, yes, you can be responsible and be a pot smoker. I no longer smoke pot, because I am a parent. I wouldn't put myself in a position where I couldn't have my wits about me properly to take care of myself or my child. The only thing I'v...

The only thing I've ever noticed pot do to me is slow my response and attention. It's never made me make poor decisions, act out violently, etc. like alcohol regularly does.

I firmly believe that if alcohol is going to be legal, pot should as well. It's faaaar more harmless. This is coming from someone who has been scarred by alcoholism.

It's not like she gave her co-workers PCP!
Weed is way less dangerous than alcohol, yet alcohol is legal.

.... suppose the Employer gave a Random Drug Test to employees and you worked with her and lost your job over an Employers ' Zero Tolerance Policy '

............ why do I think you'd be just a little less understanding ..... it's not like she got you fired, you're the one that peed a Hot Test, not her .... right ?

.... I understand what most think initially Lolaita, ' Ah, just pot ', and as many have mentioned, it wasn't intentional, but the implications could be far reaching which is why I jumped on so many who criticized Jens take on the story.

"We don't mind if we get people high on illegal drugs, but don't dare knowingly smoke a cigarette or cigar at work." I think it a bit funny because she did it unknowingly. I think it would be very wrong to knowingly feed someone pot without their consent. I would never take any drugs or smoke tobacco.

    Except weed is pretty harmless.
Unless you're driving/making life threatening decisions.
So smoke when you're lazy and when you're with friends (it's a social drug, and it's easier to make sure that no one gets hurt, the same that you do when you're drinking).
decisions smoke lazy friends social drug easier hurt drinking marijuana safer than alcohol graph
Marijuana is so much safer than alcohol, makes me wonder why it hasn't been legalized nationally yet.

Cigarettes to not have the same affect as cannabis. Cannabis gets you high, cigarettes do not. Cigarettes are not dealed by gangs.

Nor would marijuana be if it were legalized. The only reason criminals make money off of it is because it's illegal. Making pot illegal is basically giving criminals an unlimited, tax free cash flow.

One would at my body weight of 90kg would have to consume 680kg of marijuana to reach a lethal dose and that would be absolutely impossible... Drink a gallon of vodka (which is absolutely possible as I can attest to from experience) and we have a different story. Marijuana is safer than alcohol and should be legalized in the same way as alcohol.

So, if you're saying that the high is the problem, you might either be saying that 1. it is irresponsible to be intoxicated (short-term effects) or 2. it has dangerous long-term effects.

Alcohol has intoxicating effects, and the majority of governments trust their citizens to make effective decisions about their inebriation.

Alcohol has life-threatening short-term AND long-term effects, as well as having cognitively destructive potential for addicts. Irrecoverable damage.

Marijuana intoxicates its users, and the majority of governments DO NOT trust their citizens to make effective decisions about its use.

Marijuana has no life-threatening short-term effects, and is only loosely related (in nearly addictive cases of usage) to the development of cancer - much less so than abusive alcohol habits. Other than that, NO PERMANENT DAMAGE. All cognitive effects diminish within 3 months of abstinence. Also, it is physically nonaddictive (everything is psychologically addictive). Not to mention that light smokers have been clinically found to have improved IQ scores, productivity, and mood.

..Argue with me some more, it's kind of fun.
