Yes, of course it's okay for Catholic boys to be circumcised. Why wouldn't it be? In fact, in America, most Catholic boys are circumcised just like most other boys in the U.S.

I think some consider it (infant circumcision) as child abuse....... do they have pain meds for children that young? 2012.

As I stated on another page that stated the US will loose billions in healthcare costs if the trend to not circumcise baby boys continues:

YES. i think its ok to have baby boys circumcised. Was there a problem with the doctors doing the surgery?

It's actually a Jewish custom, but is widely accepted. It is a good practice, as it prevents many complications in later life (infections, etc.). I am a Catholic male, and was circumcised at birth. It is very painful if it is done as a person gets older.

Yeah I do. Why? Because it's a lot more traumatizing when you are older. Besides it's healthier to be circumcised. The foreskin can easily harbor bacteria that can cause infection. Research this. I (unfortunately) have to work urology surgeries every so often.

Bacterial Infection can occur at any age. You never escape the risk of infection and there are so many ways your body can get infected. All it takes is some bacteria to get into the urethra.

Always depend on a :oberal to screw up the reality. Jewish family s have their little boys circumcised. That is the mark of being Jewish

It really is child abuse. You're removing a very sensitive part of the body that is fused to the head of the penis until the child is an adolescent. If it weren't for religion, this would be a banned practice and anyone who did it would be arrested for sexual abuse.

Why the hell not. Nobody complains about Islamic (_*_)s who behead women for no real reason except they got pissed off?

Cicumsising is very common in western cultures.

Of course it is. My son and grandsons' survived. Baby boys are usually circumcised a few hours after birth if that is what the parents want.

There is some evidence that circumcision has health benefits, including:

A decreased risk of urinary tract infections.
A reduced risk of sexually transmitted diseases in men.
Protection against penile cancer and a reduced risk of cervical cancer in female sex partners.
Prevention of balanitis (inflammation of the glans) and balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans and foreskin).
Prevention of phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) and paraphimosis (the inability to return the foreskin to its original location).
Circumcision also makes it easier to keep the end of the penis clean.

It is just fine for any parent to agree to circumcise their child - Just because some Nazi judge in Germany said it was bad does not mean a damn thing.

I was raised in a Catholic home and having it done has caused me no harm at all.

The last time I want to mass other than a wedding or funeral was midnight mass Christmas eve 1969, a very long time ago.
