PUBLIC OPINION > Facebook Stock Is the End of Zuckerberg's Reign

SodaHead News 2012/06/01 17:00:00
Mark Zuckerberg was all smiles when Facebook launched its IPO at $38 a share last month. But when prices dropped below $28, he was immediately ousted from Bloomberg's Billionaire Index, which lists the 40 richest people in the world. Does this mean Zuckerberg's days at the top of the social media food chain are through? Will he soon be replaced by MySpace 3.0? We asked the public.

zuckerberg stock sodahead

It's a close call, but the public does not see good things in Zuckerberg's future. It's not like he's going to be out on the street or anything -- in fact, now that he owns millions of shares in the company, his wealth is more tangible than ever. But the drop does demonstrate a real lack of faith in the company's growth potential, which means Facebook could soon go the way of MySpace (and Zuckerberg the way of Tom). Although, the stock did take a leap toward $30 Thursday afternoon...

The Big Money's on Mark

Despite the lack of faith, voters who make more than $75,000 a year are putting their money on Facebook. Not literally, at least not that we know of, but they were far more likely to put in a vote of confidence. The stock did go up again on Thursday for the first time in a week, which is a good sign. Hey, the stock market's a crazy game. It's not over 'til the fat lady sells!

Teens Think It's the End

Leave it to the teens to sock it to Facebook. Teens were more eager to see the end of Zuckerberg's reign, probably because Timeline did their heads in a bit. Voters over the age of 55, on the other hand, kept cool and admitted that Zuckerberg could stay on top, though only by a small margin. Lucky for Zuckerberg, those teens probably aren't playing the market. Not yet, at least.

Smokers Shut Him Down

There was a lot of pessimism going around, but none were so sure as the smokers. Three-quarters of the smoking population was convinced it was curtains for Zuckerberg. Why is that? Could it be that smokers are a little more cynical in general? It fits a stereotype, but we couldn't say beyond the implications of this poll. Maybe their friends keep posting pictures of them with cigs in their hands on Facebook.

Yes he did, from his friends in college, and he also stole thousands and thousands of people’s info from colleges all across the country to pad, the then new site, to make it look like this beginning site was really taking off and becoming very popular. The music industry does this all the time from way back. They would make hundreds of thousands of records, tapes, etc…then buy them back, making it look like whomever the singer was, was fast becoming popular, thus launching an unknown into stardom. To top it off even from the beginning he called all his users of his site this…
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/...

Now, as it did become popular, under false pretenses, he has done many more underhand things to his users.

It would be nice to see him get his just desert and lose his dirty money.

But unfortunately it won’t happen because there still are and for a long time still will be so many of the very thing he called all his users that will continue to use that scum of a site.

I don't think that you or any of the other malcontents on this post would be singing that socialist/communist song if you had built your company from the ground up and its success amassed millions and billions for you.

He didn't build it from the ground up. One of the big investors was a group called In-Q-Tel. That on its own says it all.

There are no degrees of unique. You mean unusual. Unique means one of a kind. Therefore, something is either unique or it isn't. There are no levels of one of a kind. lo-motherf#cking l.

He asked for it, he has bowed down to special interests and big government so much that Facebook nowadays totally sucks. It's just a cauldron for the government and corporations to get to know every dirty little secret you post.

I am not a big user of FB, however I go on it and catch up with friends and family at least once or twice a week. If anyone out there is similar, then I think Face Book will survive this little dent in it's armor. Appears most on here have voted with their jealous thoughts instead of true actions. Not sure if they dislike Face Book because they secretly are jealous over the success of such a young man and wish they had thought of Face Book first. BTW. . .As far as Timeline. . .I didn't like it at first and now I sign on and do not even feel the change. Start using it and perhaps the same will happen for you. I just think the Big Boys in the Stock Market hoped Mark would fail instead of backing him up. Bullies to them is all I think of. Good luck to Mark and Face Book. Without them I would have lost touch with many friends and family. . .I'm one of the few on here (I guess) not trying to ruin others. . .Too many on here lose their ethics and morals once they become in contact with a "Past" someone. Shame.

This might be the end of Facebook. I always thought that investing stocks in Facebook was a bad idea anyways.
But I doubt it will be the end of Mark Zuckerberg

he's all well and dandy and will be til his death. he was invited to the last 'BILDERBERG MEETING', and his site is the favorite SPYBOT for the cia to spy on americans. more than likely he will attend the next get together at BOHEMIAN GROVE with closeted homosexuals bush, gingrich, pat robertson, the rockefeller men, the rothschild men and many other billionaire men in the closet.

Yes he Might attend...however...past guests have included the Clintons, the Kerry's, George Soros (past associate of the nazis and darling of the libs}... If we speculate who might attend the Bilderberg.... we should also confirm those who have already attended.

While we are discussing him it should also be pointed out that he gave over 111 millions to the school district in California... how many have we who sit in judgment of him given?
