Protestors Admit That They Need Therapy

Most of the roughly 300 Occupy L.A. protesters were released from jail by Friday evening, with some immediately speaking out on the police raid that cleared their camp.

One speaker suggested that some of those arrested might need therapy. Several said they felt traumatized after witnessing police use nonlethal force and being forced to wait for hours in zip-tie handcuffs. Some displayed cuts on their wrists from the handcuffs. Others complained that they were forced to urinate in bags on the bus as they were transported to jails.

One speaker urged others to document any complaints. "Make note of every single violation of human rights," she told those assembled.

List of arrestees

As the several hundred arrest cases made their way through the court system, it was still unclear how many protesters would ultimately face prosecution.

The city had filed 46 criminal cases as of Friday, said Chief Deputy City Atty. William Carter. Some arrestees face potential charges of failure to disperse and, in a few cases, resisting arrest.

On Friday, at least a dozen arrested were expected to be arraigned. Those who appeared before a judge Thursday and Friday had outstanding warrants for their arrest on other charges, possessed a criminal record or had resisted arrest Wednesday when police cleared the park.

Carter said the city has up to a year to charge those released. Some might avoid prosecution if they successfully complete a court program that requires them to perform community service or class instruction, he added.

On Friday night, protesters again gathered at City Hall. But they did not stay overnight

The military did me a world of good, took a know it all punk and HS dropout and turned me into who I am today. I would respectfully disagree with you on just one point. Our military is the best because it is all volunteer. The last time we had a draft, some officers were afriad to be around their own men if not armed and drug abuse was very common in the enlisted ranks.

I would prefer to see these OWS idiots in their own corps and not weakening our existing units. We can always use cannon fodder.

The OWS deadbeat dumbasses were never taught how fortunate, especially by World standards, they were to have never lacked for food, potable water, shelter or emergency medical care. Nor were they taught that THEY owe society and NOT that society owes THEM.

The easiest way to get the OWSers to disperse is to pass out bars of soap and job applications.

The ones who feel traumatized are the ones who went with nothing on their minds but PARTY TIME. A protest and a keg-fest are two different things. Maybe they'll learn their lesson and get a life.

Progress is stifled when thoughts and ideas are rejected outright. No one system is perfect (failure of US politcal system), but there are good ideas and principles within each. By declaring all socialists as evil, it makes it easy for "capitalists" (crony capitalists) to walk all over workers and banks to steal the wealth of the nation through expansion of the monetary supply and subsequent hyper-inflation.

Basically, don't reject an idea outright because someone or something such as society has told you that communism is bad. Research these ideas and maybe a better system can evolve. Society must challenge it's long and blindly accepted ideas if it ever wishes to grow for the better.

P.S. I think the majority of OWS misses the point from what I've seen, but I'm glad it is bringing attention to the very real problem of banksters and government robbing the people of freedom and wealth. There are lots of differing opinions there as well not just a "stupid liberal cabal."

socialists are not 100% evil per se, they want to do good but just cannot understand the consequences of some of their choices or their policies.

liberal indoctrine via education is, of course, a farce. The only liberal education is homeschooling.

But they're the product of statist indoctrine via the public education system, yes. That's a big part of their problem.

What do you expect, most in this movement, have been given a trophy for showing up and doing nothing beside soiling themselves. Now they are going to need therapy to try and rectify how worthless they really are.
