Prosecutors Request to End Strauss-Kahn Case: Injustice Averted or Justice Perverted?

It's been a brutal last few months for Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former head of the International Monetary Fund and French presidential hopeful, who was arrested in May on charges that he had sexually assaulted a hotel housekeeper.

Prosecutors working against Strauss-Kahn have reportedly dropped their charges due to the alleged victim's credibility, which was called into question when it was discovered she lied about being raped by soldiers in her home country of Guinea.

A judge has formally dismissed Strauss-Kahn's case, but an appeal is expected to be made this week. The accuser's lawyer continues to argue that his client was sexually assaulted, and they still have a lawsuit pending.

Strauss-Kahn issued a statement saying the last few months have been "a nightmare for me and my family. We appreciate his professionalism and that of the people who were involved in that decision ... [And we look forward to] returning to our home and resuming something of a more normal life."

Still, it's been tough to sympathize with the man, though he's denied every one of the charges against him. He was quickly lumped together with men like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Anthony Weiner, and Tiger Woods, and that image will be hard to shake.

What this means for his career is uncertain. A presidential run is almost certainly out of the question, and he's already abandoned his post at the IMF.

Check back on Friday for the results of this question and a few others in our new Web series with Spike.com. And while you're at it, watch last week's Poll Position episode -- powered by SodaHead!

Based on the evidence, this woman is a fraud. This kind of woman makes real rape victims have problems with their cases.

Yeah, it's always the rich guy, right? They're all evil. They always buy their way out of the wrong they've done to the good honest noble downtrodden poor.

Ya know, I've never been mugged or had my car stolen or my garage broken into by a rich guy yet.

Ever hear the old saying "Follow the money?" Who do you think would make herself rich if she could pull off this lie?

(Hint: It's the same woman who lied about being raped in the past, who had her own attorney less than a half hour after it was reported (who is a known "sue-em" shyster) (I looked at his website and googled him); was recorded talking to her boyfriend about the money she hoped to collect and who the prosecutors in their own documents said of her "'In virtually every substantive interview with prosecutors, despite entreaties to simply be truthful, she has not been truthful, on matters great and small, many pertaining to her background and some relating to the circumstances of the incident itself,")

"...So the rapist gets off.... again..."

Ever hear of Tawana Brawley? Or Crystal Mangum? Now you can add Nafissatou Diallo to those names.

You've been listening to too much us-against-them Obama-speak envy-talk about those greedy evil private-jet riding rich bastards

(Funny how despite all his talk, it do...

The woman who accused him has been proven to be a compulsive liar. That the two had intercourse is not a question, there's no doubt about it. What the circumstances of that encounter were however, will remain a mystery for the general public.

Something sexual appeared to happen in that room and his "trial by media" lost him his job and credibility. If she wasn't such a devious liar then there may be a case but I think he's been punished enough already.

I'm not sure if he deserves the title of "a sexual pervert" but he's definitely very sexual and can't keep control over it. It's a weakness for sure.
If she was a credible witness then this would have gone to court but changing her story and lying about her past destroyed her credibility.

The Accuser and all involved in the rush to arrest owe Kahn money ,The bonding out and expenses for lawyers, loss of income from his job, future loss of income from his ongoing job position , and almost unrepayable loss of reputation, The Accuser needs to be hauled into court and arrested on false report to Police , and lying to the Court . It is a crime to put somebody thru this ordeal .

While this guy has committed or attempted to comit perverted acts in the past, she's a pathelogical liar. She had 3 different stories as to what had transpired during and immediately after the alleged incident. It's basically case of he said, she said, and no jury would have found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I don't know what the **** he was thinking. His wife appears to be more attractive than this elephant of a woman. With his money, he could have discretely hired a hot call girl for the entire night to satisfy his every need and averted a disaster of his own making. What is she going to appeal. As far as I see, all she can do is file a civil law suit against him which does not involve the requirement of finding him guilty beyond reasonable doubt. That's what happened to double murderer OJ Simpson in 1995.

Yeah yeah , she sucked him off then went on cleaning rooms, that woman has liar written all over her face, and her African lawyer was on TV so desperate to keep the case alive after the DA relaxed the conditions on Strauss-Kahn, he really didnt help her. He saw all the money in fees and his civil case going down the drain, the guy was innocent all along.

Who did he pay off? Her lawyer is screaming that the DA threw her under the bus.
What about all the lies this woman told? If she was paid off why is she still hanging around?

And you dont think that he was a target, because he was staying in a $3000 a night hotel room, and the maid came on to him to get some DNA and set him up. Please tell me what man is going to FORCE someone to give him a blow-job. Explain to me how are you going to prevent your balls from being bitten off because you forced someone to give you oral sex. Thats idiotic, that plus the fact that he was an obviously rich man was a dead giveaway that it was a setup all along.

Dude even the prosecutors admit this this crap, you know what...go to law school, become a prosecutor and then re-open the case and then YOU prosecute Strauss-Kahn. If you feel so strong about it, f*cking do something about it, and stop arguing on Soda Head, that will get you no results.

Nazi traitor? How does that even enter the picture? The New York D.A. does not want to prosecute him, what are you bothering me for? Write to the New York D.A. a letter, explaining your disagreement with HIS decision or go to law school and then re-open the case. Im telling you how to solve and/or vent your frustrations, and youre calling me names? I dont agree with you, youre saying that no one is even ALLOWED to disagree with you or have a different opinion? Who is the real Nazi here I wonder?

Ok fine thats your belief, but why did she come out in public after the DA decided to relax the restrictions on Strauss-Kahn? She didnt have to, she could have run with the money and remained anonymous, but there she was on TV pleading her case to the public, which looks like a desperate attempt to get public opinion to keep the pressure on the DA not to drop the charges.
