Special prosecutor Angela Corey has announced that she will not use a grand jury to decide whether or not indict
George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot
Trayvon Martin, ABC News reports. She says a grand jury will not be necessary in making the decision and assures the public, "The decision should not be considered a factor in the final determination of the case."
Analysts are calling Corey's decision "bold" and "shocking" because grand juries can be used as political cover in controversial cases. Prosecutors can shift the burden of the decision (in this case, whether or not to indict Zimmerman) onto the jury to avoid public scrutiny. Some suspect the reason she bypassed a grand jury in the George Zimmerman / Trayvon Martin case was to block racial agendas that have developed around the case in either direction. But was it the right move?
I suppose that actually is a bit "anal," but being able to communicate in one's own language is very important. People like to sit around complaining that they can't find a job or a good job or a mate or whatever. Well, if that person can't communicate effectively, that could be at least one of the reasons why. It lowers a person's credibility when he/she is unable to sort out the simplest grammar/spelling items (your/you're, its/it's, etc) Even dyslexia can be overcome if one wants to badly enough.

even though he's half hispanic.
So, your kid goes out for a typical normal excursion to the local stop-&-rob to get some snacks & talk to his girlfriend without busy body ears listening in. He never comes back. When you ask police, they tell you that he attacked a man on his way home. Do you think you would buy that & just swallow it whole without demanding answers, an investigation, justice? Do you think Martin was treated fairly as he lay there dead & the police didn't even notify his family?
There are so many issues in this case that do, indeed, need to come into public light.
I think that being tried is only fair to both parties... Zimmerman & Martin. If Zimmerman is cleared, he can live is life with some sort of peace that he can never be charged again & it's legally over. If he is convicted, he will be punished accordingly. But without going to trial, no one receives justice... not Zimmerman & not Martin.
It seems funny the Reichties distracting from the real issue here.....Oh of course they have to drag the President into this one.....Gee, I wonder why?....Hmmm, could it be because he is black and that the US Attorney General happens to be black as well....
Gee, if I didn't know any better I would think that you are racist.....But, of course Racist people don't want to admit to it because it makes them look bad....Even though everyone you just mention is black and of course I don't see Faux Noise in that list at all....
Yeeee-ah.....Or your race baiting by bringing it up....Just to get into a tit for tat and prove what???....That you have intelligence....
A Teenager gets shot because he is walking home from the store.....He wasn't hurting anyone, he didn't steal anything....He was just walking home.....
Its funny that Reichties haven't come up with anything that justifies this Teenager being shot just for walking home.....
Trial by lynch mob!
I did like the part where she said a Judge could throw the case out for insufficient evidence, it has happened to her before.
Nothing more than posturing and pandering to the racist bigots marching in the streets.
It's good that now, any evidence will be brought to light, including the police department's mishandling of the crime scene, etc.
I think it's good that Zimmerman goes to trial. He gets to air his side. He will have to stand before a judge & a jury & present his case. He will have to prove that he was in fear for his life when he shot a kid in the chest who was pleading for his life, instead of shooting in the air or the ground or shooting him in the leg or shoulder.
Zimmerman's decisions were poor, no doubt. But were they justified?
A trial is not a bad thing. If the guy was justified, okay, he walks. If he wasn't, then it's only fair that he be punished.
Why is it there are so many people who don't want him to be tried? I just don't get that. If I shot you, don't you think your family would want some answers other than, "I stood my ground in self-defense?" Don't you think you'd be swinging from your heavenly vine yelling "trial! trial!" Is it so impossible for so many to put themselves in the shoes of the other party? Why is that? Why does Martin not deserve the truth, whatever it is, to come out? If he was a dangerous thug who threatened a man's life, or if he was a pissed off kid who took a swing at a guy for chas...

Now, will the truth be told?
ha!
That is a very good question.
Some people just refuse to accept the evidence.
I love to hear the dramatic renditions from people who weren't there.
Maybe the prosecution can call you as a witness...hahahaha
After looking at her affidavit, she could use some trumped up evidence....she will never get a conviction with facts, or that flimsy case she filed.
BTW....she knows that.
How is it you know what the "truth" is or isn't?
Were you there, at the scene & did you witness the entire event?
Why on earth would anyone not want this to go to trial?
He will walk, furthermore, he should walk, he was defending himself from an attacker.
Tragic, yes....criminal, NO!
I think that this situation is actually a very good use of public funds, for a change.
1) Zimmerman had a gun. He therefore had the advantage because Martin did not have a gun. He therefore could have fired his gun in several different places that would not have ended a life yet would have ended any threat he felt he was facing. Just because one has a gun, does not mean that one must kill someone. The objective was to prevent Martin from harming him or killing him. I'm pretty sure that could have easily been achieved by simply firing his weapon, not necessarily at Martin, but into the dirt or the air. And as someone who studied Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement, he should have known those things quite well.
2) The point where one becomes an aggressor can be somewhat vague. For example, in this case, we do not know whether Zimmerman continued to pursue Martin after he ended the 911 call. We do not know if Martin was found hiding or if Martin turned around, came back & did, indeed, get pissed off & clock Zimmerman. We just don't know. There are about three minutes to account for.
3) We can take Zimmerman's word for everything he says, but I do not think that's necessarily a good idea. It seems to me...

It seems to me that when a person feels that his/her freedom is at risk, it's pretty likely that he/she will say whatever will keep him/her free. If we take his word for everything, we're not only taking a big chance, we're also behaving pretty naively.
For everyone's sakes, we need to hear how everything went down. It's only fair & will give closure to everyone.
2) You will never know with certainty what happened, because you have already made up your mind and you refuse to listen or acknowledge the evidence we already know.
3) Zimmerman will never get a fair trail, because this case has been tried by the lame stream media.
4) I am all for hearing Zimmerman's side of the story, but doubt seriously the people who have already determined his guilt would believe a word he said.
4) Their case is weak and would have already been dismissed for lack of evidence in any other State.
He has be arrested now, and is in jail waiting for a safe place to go when he is released on bail. So now we wait, and hope Zimmerman truly can receive justice and a fair trial.
Were you to actually read any of my posts, I have made my position quite clear.
Yes I believe he had every right to defend himself from someone beating his head into the ground.
It's not about how their lives intersected, it's about what happened after they made contact with each other.
Tragic that a 17 year old teenager is dead....yes.
However it can't be undone....and all the woulda, should, coulda's are pointless.
Frankly, I'd suspect that as the real reason Zimmerman shot him ...
