Prosecutor Will Not Use Grand Jury in George Zimmerman Case: Smart or Sketchy?

Special prosecutor Angela Corey has announced that she will not use a grand jury to decide whether or not indict George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot Trayvon Martin, ABC News reports. She says a grand jury will not be necessary in making the decision and assures the public, "The decision should not be considered a factor in the final determination of the case."

Analysts are calling Corey's decision "bold" and "shocking" because grand juries can be used as political cover in controversial cases. Prosecutors can shift the burden of the decision (in this case, whether or not to indict Zimmerman) onto the jury to avoid public scrutiny. Some suspect the reason she bypassed a grand jury in the George Zimmerman / Trayvon Martin case was to block racial agendas that have developed around the case in either direction. But was it the right move?

Really, you think a school suspension is a criminal mischief threat?!? And please name one city that has a 7pm curfew for minors? Or did you not know this took place at 7pm on a Sunday evening?!?

You want to know what REAL CRIMINAL CHARGES that present a threat look like?
-Felony assault of a police officer
    -Domestic abuse charges
-Providing ILLEGAL SECURITY for ILLEGAL PARTIES, that provided drugs & alcohol to minors
-Contributing to the delenqucy of a minor by providing alcohol to a minor

While not criminal here is what a violent past that presents a threat looks like:
-Fired from job as security job because the person is unstable, aggressive and a liability to the business
-Throwing a woman across the room and spraining her ankle in a fit of unwarranted rage
    -Court ordered anger management classes

Who is this criminally violent person you ask with all of this in their background????
Why one Mr. G. Zimmerman aka JEYKLL & HYDE!!!!
    Zimmerman

If Zimmerman has a record like that I would question his version of the incident. Is that true?

I'm sure if some unstable person with a criminal record hunts down and shoots your kid while uttering racial slurs, you won't blame the shooter, but your own bad parenting. What the hell is wrong with you?

Hey the black Panthers are just soliciting to "stand their ground." If murdering black people is OK in Florida, shouldn't they all feel threatened?

You know damn well if Zimmerman were black and that kid were white he'd be in jail, you wouldn't be calling for a "fair" anything for him, Fox News wouldn't be raising a fund for him --instead they'd be calling for the death penalty. Anyone who doesn't see this as racist... is racist.

...By not using a grand jury, special prosecutor Angela Corey need not concern herself and/or others for whom she's working; with a grand jury possibility having even a single black or other minority on the jury who may think like some Martin family supportors on it; thereby obtaining the justus she's seeking.

She has seen all the REAL evidence, and hasn't paid attention to the media hyped lies that were all based off the alleged phone conversation between Martin & 'DeeDee'.

It was a smart and ballsy decision to diffuse some of the unwarranted tension before she announces that Zimmerman acted fully within his rights, Florida law and no charges will be filed.

    1) He had a concealed weapons permit that allowed him to carry

    2) He was not a member of any neighborhood watch program and was not bound to any set of rules.

    3) He was perfectly within his rights to follow and maintain visual contact with the person he was reporting as suspicious to law enforcement.

Grab a clue and try again.

    1. not when he a watch captin and you need more than just a linceses
    2. oh so he does not have to follow rules why? he self appointed watch captin which means yes he would have to follow rules so me where it state he does not need to.
    3. martin had a right to defend himself and walk in the area.

    get common sense.

Zimmerman, a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain, didn't follow a manual prepared by the National Sheriffs' Association, which says neighborhood watch members "do not possess police powers and they shall not carry weapons or pursue vehicles.... Members should never confront suspicious persons who could be armed and dangerous."

If he had simply obeyed those guidelines, Zimmerman would be as anonymous today as he was before the night of Feb. 26, when he shot Martin dead. An attorney for Martin's family has questioned whether the teenager even knew that Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch member.

Look pal, I have done countless hours of research on this matter, read all available police reports, witness logs, eye witness accounts, listened to all audio tapes countless times and made a chronological list of events.

Zimmerman was NOT a part of any sanctioned neighborhood watch, had never taken any courses, classes, signed up for any formal instruction and was NOT bound to any manual or set of rules no matter how many times you spew the lie.

He was operating under the same rights afforded everyone under the Constitution of the USA, Federal, State and local laws.

NOWHERE in the USA does a person have the right to attack and beat someone, unprovoked, merely because they were making a phone call, reporting your suspicious behavior to police.

What eye witness accounts? --right there you're obviously full of crap. Not sure where in the constitution it says it's ok to hunt people down and shoot them (against police advice). And where's your evidence that he was attacked? Zimmerman was following HIM! Not the other way around. What about Trevor's "right to defend himself" if he "felt threatened?" If Zimmerman were following me I'd feel threatened. Or is that right only for white people?

Recorded interview given the next day by a 911 caller who clearly identified Zimmerman (wearing red) as being beaten and yelling for help while lying on his back with attacker on top of him.
A second 911 caller backs this up by saying the attacker is on top wearing white.

At no time was Zimmerman hunting anyone and the dispatcher never tells him to stop, merely tells him that "We don't need you to do that".

If little Tray was so terrified, he had 3 minutes to run 100 yards between when Zimmerman looses sight of him and the gunshot is heard on the 911 call. He had enough time to run the entire perimeter of the complex.

No, he was pissed that Zimmerman dropped the dime on him, waited until he got off the phone with police and made the mistake of attacking someone who was packing heat. End of story.

I agree with that too, if someone is following you you try to AVOID them, NOT confront them. Especially in this day and age. You cannot trust anyone, people are too screwy.

Zimmerman was attempting to keep a visual contact while on the phone with police, nothing more. He had lost sight of Martin immediately after getting out of his vehicle.
It's all captured on his 4 minute call.
