Prop 8 Overturned. Will This Ruling Survive A Supreme Court Review?

I sure as hell hope so.

I am a human being, you are a human being, unless you are gay too... why should I nor anyone else have the same HUMAN rights as anyone else?

It's hard to say what the courts will do any more. I'm not sure what part of the constitution the judge based the decision on. I personally hope that the supreme court upholds Proposition 8. Nobody's trying to deny gays the same benefits and privileges as heterosexual couples and I'm all for allowing a "civil" union. The majority of people however, feel that marriage should be protected as a ceremony between a man and a woman.

I would hope that it wouldnt, however based off of the last two nominations placed into the court, prop 8 will be overturned regardless of how the people feel, people voted, and people defined the rule of marriage in our land.

I'm confident that the Supreme Court will rule that Prop 8 is unconstitutional. Equal protection of people under the law is an integral part of our nation's constitution. There is no rational argument for the persecution of homosexuals. People may have their feelings on the matter, but feelings are not facts.

I don't believe the Supreme Court will overturn the ruling . Eventually gay marriage will be legal in all 50 states. It's gonna happen whether you like it or not...

The Supreme Court won't overturn the ruling. Prop 8 violated Constitutional rights of Californians and the homosexual couples have a legal civil injury to their civil rights. I'm looking forward to the SCoTUS to rule on it, though, so gays will get the right to marry in every state of the US. That'll be funny to watch all the Conservatives' heads explode!

The Supreme Court will uphoild it when HOMOsexuals manage to find a way to propagate without the assistance of intrusive technology, or stunt cocks. ;o)

Proposition 8 did not pass by a 90% majority. Not even 55%

The majority of Californians, perhaps the MOST liberal state in the Union, passed it with well over 50% of the vote. Now the Communist styled Liberals are trying to make those votes irrelevant.

2% is well over 50%? It was a pretty close race, and without the vast sums of money poured into the campaign by the mormon church for their disinformation campaign, it would have failed.

So then you need to restrict the vast sums those with the homosexual agenda also poured into the issue.

Supporters of marriage equality were enormously outspent by the mormons - who under their federal tax exempt status are prohibited from doing what the did. Unfortunately, they are not required to open their books to prove that they did what they did. I personally do not feel another state's religious dingbats or their money belong in my state's legislation or campaigns.

What I object to is a religious group which is not supposed to be involved in politics at all - this is part of why they are tax exempt - involving themselves to such a degree that they actually change the outcome of another state's issue.

Prop 8 had more support than AlGore did back in 2000.

It has been reported that the Gay Marrage proponents had much more money than did the Prop 8 people. Couple that with this being up for a vote in the most liberal state in the Union and even a blind man would tell you that the less than 10% of Americans known as HOMOsexuals don't have a chance. ;o)

Danno, I don't know what your problem is - I do think you suffer from a deficiency of grey cells - but the fact that the 9th circuit court stayed the decision of the lower court to allow gay marriages to proceed was completely predictable - that is why the lower court delayed lifting the ban. So - sorry - you haven't scored a thing and you are still mistaken with respect to the other matter.
