If you're like us, you're thanking your lucky stars for the day off today, but you're probably also wondering why am I off in the first place?
Presidents' Day is the modern-day joint birthday celebration of Abraham Lincoln (February 16) and George Washington (February 22).
Americans recognized Washington's b-day way before Congress declared it a national holiday. His 100th birthday was marked with centennial celebrations, much like that of Reagan's.
In 1968, Congress passed legislation giving Americans (fortunate enough to work for companies that shut down for the holiday) a three-day weekend if holidays fell on a Monday. And in 1971, President Richard Nixon created the official Presidents' Day.
In light of the holiday, we're wondering if you could choose one former president to still be in office, who would it be?

1) He raised taxes 11 times
2) He gave amnesty to illegal aliens
3) He raised our federal deficit from just under $1 TRILLION to $2.5 TRILLION
...and I can go on and on. Today's GOP glorify him but would never consider the Reagan Democrats (negotiate) and he'd be defeated in the primaries. That is the hypocrisy of the GOP.
