President Barack Obama wants to keep moving America forward, and doesn't want to go back to the failed policies of previous administrations.
We all need to work harder in this election, stand by him in support, even through the face of adversity and let's finish what we began. Every active person and voice counts and will make a huge difference. Obama is the right choice for our country and our future!
My point was that the various models of automobiles that make up GM were at one time separate and independent Auto Companies that went bankrupt back in the 20s and 30s..
THESE companies FOLDED and as they DID so they were taken over and resurrected into what we know as General Motors today..
Now.. General Motors was a very successful Auto company until,, sometime in the mid-ninties,, they got to a point where they were actually spending MORE on Union Benefits and Pensions then they were in building cars..
Their demise from THAT point on was a foregone conclusion..
Without the government bridge loans they probably would have gone Chap. 10 and be liquidated. Shareholders would have gotten nothing behind the government and pensioners. Fact is regardless of foreign production, over 1 million domestic jobs have people putting bread on the table. Romney's way would have them on unemployment.
Bullsh!t. The shareholders took it in the shorts, lost their retirements and GM's stock would have to completely sell out at twice what it's going for now, for them to even break even. 1,000's of dealerships were put out, many had been around for generations.
Where do you get this 1 million domestic jobs? GM only has 68,500 employees in the U.S. and about 130,000 in foreign nations.
GM still owes $24Billion, Canada now owns 11%
GM should have been forced to takje the path ALL private businesses have to, canceled the ridiculous union contracts and closed their doors.
Ford, Honda, Toyota etc. would have expanded their operations, absorbed all the displaced workforce and we wouldn't have missed GM at all. Especially their $250,000 Chevy Volts.
I'm with Schlaue.. Where do you get your numbers and more importantly.. I'll ask the same thing that I ask when Obama pulls numbers out of his A$$..
Why not 2 million or 3.. As long as you're going to make up numbers,, why not make them spectacular..
Here's a number for you.. In order for the unemployment rate to get back to where it was when the Democrats took over the Congress in January of 2007,, there would have to be 250,000 MORE jobs gained then lost each and every month for the next 5 years..
The unemployment rate today ( which is NOT the actual UR ) of 8.2% is STILL higher then Obama PROMISED it would never get to if he got his Union Slush Fund Bill that he called a Stimulous Package..
HE GOT IT and the unemployment rate peaked to as high as 10% and hovered at over 9 % for more then 22 months..
He never personally promised 8%. Some advisors made that statement on their own. Rant on. I am seeing lots of new GM vehicles in my city. And your buddy Bush started the auto bailout.
By the same Glenn Beck logic the GOP are fascists backing corporate and government control of the people.

Yes, it's a word that moves a negative agenda forward and sacrifices the rights of all people, whether they are emotionally and mentally captured by a repugnant type of regime or not.
According to ABC News, the Obama campaign had expected an “overflow” of people. Instead, the arena looked half-empty. The Columbus Dispatch reports that Obama organizers even had people move from the seats to the floor of the gym in order to project a larger crowd on television.
According to the Toledo Blade, the venue for Obama’s rally seats 20,000 but “there were a lot of empty seats.” Comparatively, Obama drew a crowd of 35,000 at Ohio State when he campaigned for former Governor Ted Strickland in 2010.
Do you need a map?
Do you know what a normal bankruptcy is ?
GM was a product of union labor. The govt. turned to Henry Ford for assistance.

HE did it.. NOT his advisors.. NOT his Cou8nselors.. HIM personally..
As for that Bailout.. I said that MYSELF.. Bush Bailed them out and Obama takes ALL the credit for saving them.. ANOTHER Lie by Obama..

The only administration with the failed policies here, Mopeder, is Obama.
Can you seriously believe we are better off now than when he took office?
