It's ridiculous that the congress the senate and the president can't work together, isn't that what they're supposed to do. Aren't they supposed to be three branches of the same tree??? Working together to provide the country with what it needs? Instead they argue and refuse to compromise. How childish is this. *puts hands on hips and looks at the President* Well I'll just take MY vote and go home. *sticks out his tongue*

If you're in the middle class, House Republicans want your taxes to go up.

    Way up.

That's what a study I asked Congress' Joint Economic Committee to prepare just concluded -- and what the nonpartisan experts at the Tax Policy Center found, too.

It's a deceptive plan to drastically reduce taxes for the rich and make it look like your tax rate would go down, too -- while actually eliminating things the middle class counts on, like tax breaks for employer-provided health insurance, mortgage interest, state and local taxes, and retirement savings.

For the good of this country, we need Republicans to bargain in good faith

    -Senator Chuck Schumer

I got a friend who lives on his student load and he's been going to school for 7 years, he also has his wife and son receiving the checks, all with no intent to getting a job. They just keep taking online classes. heir intent is hopefully Obama will forgive student loans, and if not they plan on taking classes forever.

Transportation Bill??? Let's try saving some jobs, and cutting taxes first. It's easy to spend, even when you don't have the $ if you're looking to get re-elected.

We should not need transportation bill right now. There should be one in effect.
    Anybody really following this issue?

The student loan program can be straightened out starting with removing it as a funding source for Obamacare. Yes, that is where student loan profits go.

well the GOP (Grand Obstruction Party), is at it again. In order to keep student loan interest low, the Repugnant party wants take money from women's preventive health care. What does this jackoff party have against women?? No wonder they call them the American Taliban!!!!!

Im not worried about student loans, when you take out a loan, you pay it back,no body owes the students a damn thing

Of course they pay it back. Where did you get the idea that they don't have to pay the loan back?? That's not what the argument is between the right wing and Obama. It's all about interest on student loans. This country is 17th in the world academically, That's not good for this country if we will still want to be the number one economic power in the world!!!!!

All he wants is to vote to raise taxes, why do the American tax payer have to keep bailing out Obamas failed policies.
What is the federal gas tax supposed to do,pay for upkeep of roads but our leaders always find other ways to spend the money.
Student loans are now under the fed government thanks to Obama and interest rates will sky rocket.

between now and the election nothing will get done. Republicans are not interested in helping Obama, the middle class, and definitely anything to do with "education". The dumber the better for Rethugs.

Student loan debt now exceeds credit card debt.

McConnell already told his caucus to vote NO on any bill between now and the election. It wouldn't matter if Obama said he approved of Mother's Day, they would all be against it. In their hatred for this man, they conveniently forget their constituents. Those little peons mean nothing. It's all about power.

Yeah, they should. Sure is better than spending it on more war and we borrow for that too.

You cannot grow the economy and cut economic growth at the same time. Politicians on both sides know all about this double think situation. Republicans know they are killing the economy.

It is like a businessman with stagnating business who is too afraid to invest in new business. You don't get paid for sitting on the fence.

Another example is tensing every muscle in your body, then trying to throw a punch. The punch might work but it will not be very effective or powerful.

Or a guy who is never prepared enough to ask that girl he likes out on a date. The situation is a non-starter; never has, never will.
