President Barack Obama on Friday put the blame for a weaker-than-expected May jobs report on Congress, saying lawmakers' inaction has stymied economic recovery.
"Right now, Congress should pass a bill to prevent more layoffs," Obama told an audience gathered at Honeywell's Golden Valley, Minn., facility, which the president had earlier toured.
Obama said Congress has not passed enough provisions of his jobs plan ("There's no excuse for it," he said) and must work immediately to offer more tax breaks for small-business owners and for homeowners who refinance. He also wants to extend tax credits for clean energy manufacturers. "Do it right now," the president said.
"Now's not the time to play politics," he said. "Now's not the time to sit on your hands."
The message the president issued Friday follows the rhetoric surrounding a "to-do list" he released for Congress last month, which urged lawmakers to take steps to address the employment situation.
In Minnesota, Obama once again lamented the struggles members of the military face when returning to the workforce. "No one that fights for this country abroad should ever have to fight for a job when they come home," he said.
To help change that situation, the president announced a partnership with the military and manufacturing companies to help veterans find work. He called on U.S. employers to hire post-9/11 veterans and their spouses.
The economy added just 69,000 jobs in May, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' monthly report. The national unemployment rate increased a tenth of a percentage point, from 8.1 to 8.2 percent.
Mitt Romney called the report "devastating news for American workers and American families" as other Republicans jumped to criticize the White House for the lackluster numbers.
The president is scheduled to attend six campaign events later Friday across Minnesota and the Chicago area.

Higher Tax Rates for All
You may think only individuals in the top two brackets will face higher federal income taxes if the Bush cuts go bye-bye as scheduled on Jan. 1, 2013. Not true. Unless Congress takes action and the president goes along (whoever that is), rates will go up for everyone -- not just "the rich." Specifically, the existing 10% bracket will go away, and the lowest "new" bracket will be 15%. The existing 25% bracket will be replaced by the "new" 28% bracket; the existing 28% bracket will be replaced by the new 31% bracket; the existing 33% bracket will be replaced by the 36% bracket; and the existing 35% bracket will be replaced by the 39.6% bracket.

Simply put, not everyone, as defined by conservatives should have an equal voice, because not everyone should be viewed as equal, and therefore deserving. Conservatism calls for us to surrender to their acknowledged aristocracy of those who have great wealth, leadership abilities, power, and stature. These include conservative politicians, corporate CEOs, the Filthy Rich, some religious leaders who tow the line, and purveyors of local prejudices (Governor Scott Walker, etc.), those who blaspheme the name of freedom by trying to control the thoughts and values of others. We all know them well
Setting up an aristocracy of power is the central cause of conservatism, despite all the talk about national debt, religion, patriotism, taxes, spending, gun rights, and abortion. These issues are nothing but stepping stones to their goal, and all one has to do is look how these leaders live their lives to verify it (Glenn Beck, Sara Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Mitch McConnell, etc.). Their hypocrisy is undeniable, which is why wedge issues never really get resolved. Actions speak louder than words. Their chief concern proven over and over again is to cater to the Filthy Rich and powerful-while making sure that the working people are subserviently supportive of them through DEFICIT PRODUCING TAX CUTS, even against their own interests. Some democracy. When they talk of tradition, this is what they mean. They are harking back to a form of aristocracy rule rooted in the Middle Ages.
Conservatives think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.
Conservative politics... have always been the systematic organization of hatreds.
The trouble with conservative radical extremists is that they only read radical literature, and the trouble with conservatives is that they don't read anything else.
Seems The American Public should take note that those 15 jobs bills are do not include the Jobs Bill that President Obama put forward 18 months ago that would have over 2.5 milion more AMERICANS working today to repair our intrastructure improve our electrical power system backbone.
The Republicans have only themselves to blame when they lose the House this fall.

Mitch McConnell, the leader of the minority party in the Senate, said on national TV that THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY OF THE GRAND OBSTRUCTION PARTY WAS TO MAKE THIS BLACK AFRICAN AMERICAN A ONE TERM PRESIDENT. It wasn't to help America, and the American people to fix the near-depression they created or fix the economy or create jobs. The mistake that most conservatives make is that they think I am trying to convert or convince them of something, but most live in an impervious Bubble where facts never get in. TO BE A GOOD CONSERVATIVE
You have to believe that those privileged from birth achieve success all on their own.
You have to be against all government programs, but expect Social Security checks on time.

You have to believe that pollution is OK as long as it makes a profit.

His own Dem Congress got their selves kicked out for doing NOTHING but screwing the Americans with Obamacare.. They couldn't even attempt to set up the next budget because they were so busy figuring out ways and means to lie, tax and extort money from the Middle Class taxpayers. Obamacare was openly lied about by the DEMS to get it passed through.. Now were finding out that it was BILLIONS under the actual figures.....
