Did you guys say "George Walker Bush" commemorated this or that? "George Walker Bush" made a speech... "George Walker Bush" had a shoe thrown at him or whatever? No but you gotta get that "Houssien" in there doncha? We get it he has a crappy middle name. Normal people who have respect for the office of the Presidency and for America would say, "President Obama..." but that's normal people.

Dems/Progs/Libs showed zero respect for President Bush for 8 years...and now you want groveling from Repubs and Conservatives because Obama is in office? Sorry pally, actions have consequences. Your man is a failure on so many levels that to demand subservience to this administration is outrageous...not going to happen!! Obama was the worst vetted presidential candidate ever!!

barack is the most despised president by military personnel in a generation and his pandering will not likely net him any votes in November.

From Sept. 2008 Televised "Meet the Press" THE THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.

General Bill Gann' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...

During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".

    NOW GET THIS !!

    Obama replied:

"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides". "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression.." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

    (ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???)

Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should con...

If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of warring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ......."

When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam, an unfair injusticewhich is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past".

"barack is the most despised president by military personnel in a generation and his pandering will not likely net him any votes in November."

    Bullshit.

While the last president failed them at Walter Reed and tried numerous times to cut their benefits --Obama increased them and cleaned up the mess. More war veterans who actually fought become Democrats when they run for office than the other side. The ones who support Romney are the Chicken Hawk brigade. --looove to send other people and their kids to war but would never fight themselves... no surree.

I will say this about Walter Reed...the commanding officer was relieved. He didn't do his job. That being said, Walter Reed was scheduled for closure and the CO didn't upkeep the building that he was accountable for. George Bush didn't have a damn thing to do about it...Nice try pally...btw, because of Dems not attempting to make and pass and budget the military will be forced to cut their budget alarmingly....harry is in charge of the Senate, he doesn't even bring a budget to vote...he's so afraid of losing credibility that he passes on doing his f'ing job.....at least Tip O'Neil had the balls to bring matters to vote in the House during Reagan and if he lost, he lost and vowed to fight for his principals in the future...this generation of losers simply quit participating and blame others....

When blame is deserved why not? The first step toward recovery is identifying the problem. One side gave us the GI Bill and the other voted against it. Guess which one.

. Under the Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed into law by President Obama, the Department of Veterans Affairs budget saw an increase of $1.4 billion

Obama signed the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the benefits under the bill that were previously available only to veterans also became available to their families, providing educational assistance, and increasing opportunity and access to universities and colleges.

And the "military cuts" are for things like the C-17 Globemaster III strategic airlifter, which no one will ever use in combat but are draining our budget. Some of these the Defense Secretary calls unnecessary and wasteful. Republicans think our security depends on a blank check to every weapons contractor with a lobbyist.

Pubs have a "fire and forget" policy when it comes to millitary personnel. Always have. Plus history shows it takes a Democrat in office to win a war.

military cuts also will affect the production of armored vehicles, spare parts for active weapons, etc.....it's better when cutting a budget that it's planned...not just cut..

TheC-17 has been operational for over 20 years...WTH are you talking about? yea, it cost over-run when it was being developed...but it's service has been exceptional and cost effective....

Dems have a belief that if they offer people money that it comes with blind obedience and their vote, come election time....just sayin, cuz it's true...

I guess you're smarter than our Defense Secretary about which programs to cut...BTW can you show us your cost/benefit analysis on the program? Maybe the president should talk to you instead? Sorry I think we should go with Panetta on this one, after all he was an officer in Army Intelligence and director of the CIA.

they are being forced to cut because the congress can't pass a budget...btw, I disagreed with a lot of Cheney's ideas about the military budget long before he was Veep...he didn't like the Osprey and he had quite a few other bonehead ideas that didn't happen....As for Panetta and Intelligence officers...I don't have the highest regard for them...I had to work with these jerkoffs when I was in the Navy...pretentious asses who believe the world revolves them...being an enlisted guy my job was to highlight the important parts of intel reports so their valuable time wasn't wasted reading a complete report....then the Division Officer would send out a message that he concurred with someone else's opinion!!

You CAN NOT make the case that barack is held in high regard by the military, military personnel or veterans.
Barry floated the idea of billing veterans’ private insurance companies for treatment of conditions connected to their military service, including war injuries.
Two days after its meeting with veterans groups, the White House released a formal announcement saying that "the President has instructed that [the idea's] consideration be dropped."

when he was talking about the denigration of the soldiers he was talking about libs and progs!! The very same people who hoped for a military setback in Afghanistan and Iraq for domestic political gain are the same kind of people that are the spokespersons for the Democratic Party....however they are muted and appreciative of the military when their guy is the POTUS
  • SW Bob, th... 2012/08/27 13:14:57

No he wasn't he was talking about PUBS who waive the flag around and pretend to "support the troops" with bumper stickers while lying them into wars then cutting their benefits and shipping their jobs overseas when they get home.

No libs "hoped for a military setback in Afghanistan and Iraq" but pubs sure do now! "I hope he fails" wasn't a liberal quote! Nope that was from YOUR SIDE.

Stick to reality not what your crystal ball tells you libs "hope for" or "want" cause you can't read minds.

Nope, you are truly delusional....name one Conservative/Repub who wished for a military reversal....come on pally...name one.....in the meanwhile I'll just mention that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi wanted to cut and run during the Bush Admin..I could also say without reservation that LSM was anti-war during the Bush Admin...and now they are quiet about the daily death tolls or just ignoring the story altogether...

As for the "hope he fails" was a Rush quote and it had nothing to do with military obligations...Rush was talking about his economic policies...

Typical LW posturing on your part...hysterical ramblings and an ability to play revisionist history games....sad attempt

My Father did 4 tours in Vietnam in the US Marine Infantry. He is 100% Disabled from Agent Orange. The French lost over 100,000 troops and we lost 58,000, the Vietnamese lost over 1 Million soldiers and civilians. In the end, what did we accomplish ?
