Prepared For Life, As Long As It Doesn't Include Any, You Know, Homosexuals

Due to their endless anti-gay bigotry, the Boy Scouts should be condemned. The organization is teaching bigotry.

After a secret two-year review incorporating "a diversity of perspectives and opinions" and "extensive research and evaluations," the Boy Scouts of America have reaffirmed they still don't like homosexuals and thus will continue to exclude them as "absolutely the best policy for the Boy Scouts." This, despite protests, internal divisions, a petition signed by 300,000 people, a massive movement nationwide from the military to the Girl Scouts toward greater inclusion of all as a basic civil right, a simmering child abuse scandal the BSA has fought to keep under wraps for decades, and the howling hypocrisy that is the BSA's claim to teach "lifelong values," which last time we checked did not include mindless bigotry.

Bigotry should not be tolerated in any organization whether it be private or public.

In my opinion, there really isn't a private organization anymore because the privacy criteria in American society has gone out the door. For instance, someone could not open up a swimming pool and declaring it private for Caucasians only.

    So what?

A private organization teaches values that it adheres to. How horrible.
Why don't you start "The Rainbow Kids", and you can ONLY allow LGBT kids in, then you can teach all the anti-straight propaganda that you choose. And not WORRY about what another group believes.

The Boy Scouts are teaching bigotry and, from your comment, it seems you support it. I don't think the Boy Scouts should be permitted to use any public building for meetings. I attend a United Methodist church and, due to being a Reconciling Congregation and welcoming gays and lesbians, the Boy Scouts are no longer permitted to use our building for meetings. That decision was based on the bigotry practiced by the Boy Scouts.

At what point am I supposed to care about what church you are a member of?

I support a group adhering to their own values.
And I've seen quite a bit of bigotry from gays in my life too.
No one is the saint you hope them to be.

I so love it when people like you try to spin support for bigotry. There's no excuse for the bigotry taught by the Boy Scouts.

But bigotry taught by lgbt is just ducky with you, is that it?

Another conservative accusation without any evidence to support it; why am I not surprised.

What surprises me, Samantha, is you still cannot wrap your brain around the fact that I am NOT a conservative (and up until the last election, I WAS a democrat!)

I don't care what you are; there's no defense for bigotry.

I so love it when conservatives use that image; it actually means nothing and no voter harassment took place.

It's so funny when conservatives resort to using a crude version of moral relativism.

Again, I'm not a conservative. If this is the closest thing you can come to an insult, I can refer you to several sites.

So what! You're only trying to divert attention away from the bigotry taught by the Boy Scouts. I could hundreds of examples of white racists; however, the issue is the bigotry practiced by the Boy Scouts. It seems you can't defend it so, instead, you try to divert attention away from it.

No, I'm just saying I don't care what that group does.
If you DO, don't let your kid join them.
    It's really pretty simple.

Don't enjoy that freedom of expression, eh?
Unless it's what you want to express, that is?

Let it go Samantha. I'm not a representative that can change anything and neither are you. Griping to ME isn't going to do anything to change the situation and will eventually just give you an ulcer.

Wrong! I intend to make a difference in this world by fighting against the type of bigotry practiced by the Boy Scouts, against racism, against sexism, and against religious bigotry. Unlike conservatives, I support marriage equality and will fight to reduce the disparity between rich and poor in this country.
