OBAMA MYTH: Shutting down a successful paper plant in Marion, IN.
REALITY: The paper plant in Marion, IN was losing money when Ampad bought it to try to turn it around.
In 1992, Bain Capital invested in American Paper & Pad, or Ampad. Two years later – while Governor Romney was on a leave of absence to run for U.S. Senate against the late Ted Kennedy – Ampad purchased the assets of an unprofitable plant in Marion, Indiana from Smith Corona.
This was not a healthy plant: In the year preceding Ampad’s purchase, the Marion plant lost more than $1.6 million dollars.
Though the Marion plant would later close, Ampad added nearly 2,500 jobs at other plants between Bain Capital’s initial investment and the sale of its majority interest. During this same period, revenues grew dramatically from $8.8 million to more than $580 million.

Now Romney and the Bain Capital types, like the Koch Brothers are after the grand prize. The US GOVERNMENT, in the biggest vulture capitalist takeover attempt ever seen on the planet. They want to suck it dry of all its assets and liquid cash and throw away the carcass.
Things they didn't tell you.
Environmentalists were protesting this paper plant becasue of the pollution and the killing of trees.
IN the mid nineties, the need for paper went WAY down, because email meant you didn't have to have everything on paper.
The reason the plant was profitable at the time is because they had just had a pay cut, so the plant wouldn't close.
But the union didn't like the idea of a pay cut, and so, when Mitt Romney got involved with
Bain, the workers at this plant were on strike!
Most of the workers were re-hired, but under a different pay plan, so the plant could stay open
But pressures from environmentalists, the lack of need for paper, and unions made the plant unprofitable, so they had to close.
This info came from the Huffington Post, not exactly a right -wing rag, huh?
So, the real reason this plant closed is because of the left.

All this wonderful info came out when Newt Gingrich tried the same tactics on Mittens. The left came out to eliminate Newt from running.

First, no one would be stupid enough to assemble three shifts in a warehouse to fire everyone en masse, at least not without the national guard in position to provide security. Two of the shifts would be there on their own time with the graveyard shift losing sleep time. Give me a break.
What Union does this turkey belong to? Do they really think anyone with more than 2 active brain cells is going to believe this crap?
I wonder if the closing of that factory was partially due to the job killing "free trade" agreements that Obama and Clinton signed, or to the tax breaks that have been given to corporations for moving jobs overseas.
Our paperless society probably had a lot to do with it also.
I wish that the jobless man would have went into more detail about how Mitt profited $100 million from closing that plant.
Thanks to the research of others we find it's a paper plant, duh! They're a victim of the paperwork reduction act, the internet had replaced traditional newspapers and magazines.
The Health care tax was presented with the bs technique. Obama blasted doctors and insurance companies, leaving out the fact that now the IRS will control your health care under the "advisory panels" advice (who?)
