One has to laugh at that Ass Hat Holder.. it is anti VOTER to have to show a legal id to vote..

But at the meeting with the NAACP yesterday everyone had to show ID to get in to hear Holder tell how horrible it is to have to show an ID to let people like him get up and tell us how horrible it is to have to show an ID to get in to hear him..

Now he is comparing having a government issued ID to a Poll tax.. HUH?????

To fly, I have to show an ID
To fly internationally, I have to show a federal ID (Passport)
To cash a check, I have to show ID
To deposit money I have to show an ID
To apply for credit at a store, I have to show ID
If I get pulled over for speeding (again), I have to show ID
When I use my credit card or cash card for a purchase, I have to show ID
When I buy a beer and shot of tequila, I have to show ID (well used to have to :))
When I go to an event selling beer and need an armband, I have to show ID
When I go to a club, I have to show ID
When I go to pick up certified mail, fedex or ups, I have to show ID

I mean COME ON!!! The ONLY reason NOT to show an ID is that you DON'T HAVE ONE!!!

What is a poll tax? In America today people who cannot afford to pay for a state Id because they can't afford the fee to get their BIRTH RECORDS to get a ID,nor the travel expense. PLUS, THE RE PUB'S have gone record, that they don't want AMERICANS to VOTE. This means your Grand parents who have voted before you where born in every election, can't vote. Some people in America were not born in a hospital thus they don't have a birth record on file. And some people are to poor, but you don't give a DAM, about them because it about you, but guess what one day you will be OLD and unable to vote because over time we lose things like jobs, our homes, even our right to vote in America. SO IN AMERICA DON'T GET SICK AND DON'T LOOSE YOUR JOB, AND MOST INPORTANT DON'T GET OLD. Your comparison of using an Id to attend event's has no place in the polling venue see we remember POLL TAX, I remember riding in the back of the bus, paying taxes and unable to vote, see those of you who never experience this have no idea. SO DO SOME DAM RESURCH, THINK! THINK!

SO YOU THINK THAT STATES DO NOT ISSUE ID CARDS AT THE DRIVERS LICENSE BUREAU .. YES THEY ARE FREE.. YOU THINK THAT YOU CANNOT GET A VALID BIRTH CERTIFICATE FROM THE STATE WHERE YOU WERE BORN..

"remember" is the operative word. I can "remember" how the Roman Catholic Irish immigrants were treated... Silly isn't it and yet that is exactly what you are doing. Either your age is listed incorrectly or you had a phenomal memory as a 6 year child. My mother was not born in a hospital and yet she had a birth certificate. Birth certificates did not come into use until 1900 before then the local church kept the records for the whole population in the area so ones finances didn't matter and your grandparents votes did count. It seems all of us need to do some "dam research"
By the way, where did "Repubs" say they didn't want Americans to vote? And do you have a drivers license?

You need ID to visit a doctor today; buy certain products; meet with a public official. Shoot, 40 years ago we needed ID to just cash a check. And for Holder to stand before the NAACP and lie about the many alleged miles and costs people without a government issued photo ID is so typical of the administration. He lies almost as much as his boss!

ID Laws are OK and fair. BUT BUT BUT. There HAS to be an organized government effort and drive to ensure citizens have acceptable ideas and entitle them to free identification if they are not in possession of such "acceptable" forms. It should be like the census with poll workers visiting people before election day to ensure they have proper IDs. After that, an ID with a picture ought be issued upon voter registration.

what does having a census taker have to do with showing up to vote? What does having a valid ID have to do with allowing dead people to vote???
What does having a valid ID have to do with keeping illegals from voting in our elections???

Seems that everyone who desires to vote.. should have a valid ID.. One has to have a Voter ID card to vote.. so minimal verification is not asking much

Yes, which is why I agree with you 100% (but clearly your reading vocabulary is not high enough to understand when people agree with you if they have even the slightest nuances or caveats) . My point was that there should be a greater Census-like effort to get people the proper identification if they do not currently possess it. Voter ID laws stop fraud, but they're useless if only 80% of Voters actually have a passable ID.
