It started back with Reagan and Bush 1... Arming Afghans with weapons to fight against Russians. And then interfering in Saudi fight against Iraq... Osama was pissed because he couldn't' save face when the King choose to outsource their defense against Saddam to the US...

As my Granny use to say "Tell the truth and shame the devil" you are the only one that got it right. If Reagan didn't support the mujahideen and then left them with a broken country in a civil war after they kicked the Soviet Union's out, the Taliban would have never came into power and Al Qaeda wouldn't have had a place to hide.

Neither. Al Qaeda was at fault for 9/11. It would have been virtually impossible to stop the plot even if Richard Clarke was heeded.

Its been clearly proven that the existence of Al Qaeda was the result of Republican scum in the '80's, with the unintended result that the Twin Towers were destroyed. This is similar to Republican policy followed religiously through the years 2001 to 2008 that led to
the unintended result of the great recession of late 2008.

The Reagan administration armed the mujahideen, a good many of which later became Al Qaeda, with all kinds of cool weaponry . . . .like Stinger missles and rpg's and lots of other cool weapons . . . many of which were disseminated throughout the Militant Islamist world to attack us. Remember Black Hawk Down?

And the Reagan administration trained mujahideen leaders, including Osama Bin Laden, in strategy and tactics. Remember 911?
