In the wild world of U.S. opinion, terrorism, weeks after the botched NYC car bombing, was ranked lower than immigration when it came to what people thought were the country's top problems.

According to Gallup, switching places at one and two were similar-themed topics: economy and jobs. At the same time, Americans grew more likely to name immigration (including illegal immigration) as the nation's most important problem, moving that issue into fifth place.

The heightened concern about immigration comes as a new Arizona law designed to address illegal immigration has drawn nationwide attention. There is increased concern both across the country and across the political spectrum. However, increased mentions of immigration are most pronounced in the Western states, surging from 2% in April to 16% in May, as well as among Republicans and conservatives.

"Americans continue to view unemployment as one of the nation's leading problems, but they put slightly less emphasis on it today than they did in April. At the same time, the percentage of Americans citing immigration as the top problem has swelled from 2% to 10%. The even steeper increases seen among Republicans and conservatives highlight a major aspect of that concern -- the belief that illegal immigration needs to be curtailed."

I think our government is broken and the current administration and congress are doing everything in their power to further contribute to the demise of this once great country. An example of one of our many problems, one that has received much attention as of late, is of course, illegal immigration.

It is well know that the Arizona law known as SB 1070 has thrust this issue into the spotlight once again. And once again, it has polarized the conservative and progressive residents of this country, as well as both state and Federal government officials from the top down.

I ask each of you as Americans only, regardless of your ideology, to click on the picture below and read the sign(s) that these demonstrators are carrying. I also ask you to put aside race for a moment as it is NOT an issue that directly relates to the ongoing illegal invasion. Now, using common sense only and putting aside all other distractions, can anyone, in truth, defend the actions of those depicted?

BUT, if it's ultimately about power and control, and they sift out all the bad seed like they are trying to do, then who will they have power and control over? So what good will it do them?

I think you have that backwards. The tea party people are the business owners and people who work in this country and pay taxes. The people who would be culled are the inner city bums who live off welfare and the entitlement class who think the world owes them. I am fine with a test but you should know it will reduce your voting numbers. You might want to rethink that test.

I was just trying to tick off Lisa, because her response was annoying and I wasn't even talking to her-- it was easier to do than I expected.

You're resorting to meaningless cliches about "them" wanting to take away my freedoms. Sorry, but I disagree. When I look at other countries around the world, it's always the most conservative that have the least freedoms. Would you rather live in France or Saudi Arabia?

I doubt you'll break a swear defending my freedoms. And as far as praying goes, why not get the most for your buck and pray for everyone like me, not just me? Pray for peace and freedom on earth, pray that eveyone is cured of all disease, has decent housing, water, and food. Why on earth would you just pray for me? It doesn't make any sense.

Then if they get their wishes, will they self destruct? What will be left for them to do then? The Founders wanted Freedom for everyone, not just rich and powerful people.

Why can't we go back to the Original Constitution w/o all of the of unreasonable.. " cover their ass, Amendments ?" and let People exercise their common sense, self-worth, and start the barter system back ?.. Forget all of the Elite's socialism by the invention of, classes & societies.. ? The biggest concern at this point is that the white house is occupied by an evil enemy who is doing all he can to destroy America. In addition, the democrat congress both house and senate is aiding and abetting obama in his crimes against the constitution and the American people. They are failing to do the jobs we hired them to do and ignoring the wishes of the people they are supposed to represent. The reason all this came about is that we forgot that freedom is not free. This is not limited to our military it applies to every citizen. For many years we have elected people we knew nothing about and then failed to supervise them. Each time they did something outrageous we complained for a day or two then shook our heads and forgot about it. The election should not be the end of our involvement with the politicians. We must continuously monitor that they are representing us the way we want them to. The spotlight must remain on their every action for the entire time they are in our employ. When ever they are even in danger of not meeting our wishes we need to land on them with both feet. They can never be allowed to forget that they represent us, not their party and not themselves. We have to get rid of the hazardous waste currently polluting our country and then continue to guard against this situation ever arising again.
