I have one big problem with this speaker and it isn't his voice. He keeps saying democracy, we are not a democracy, we are a Republic and this is the way they brainwash you into believing we are a democracy.

That gentlemen keeps referring to the US as a democracy where in fact the US is a Republic, big difference! But then again, the subject is “Political Ignorance.”

    the U.S. is both.

Article 4, Section 4, of the US Constitution: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.”

I've read the Constitution. You can thank classical liberals for it, in fact. That doesn't make the U.S. any less democratic.

A typical response from one who has been indoctrinated by our progressive liberal government controlled educational system. That system embraces the “living constitution.” There is a big difference between a Democratic from of Government relative to a Republican form of Government. In fact, you will not find the word “Democracy” in the US Constitution or in any of the 50 State Constitutions throughout the United States. Or is it, “57 States” according Obama. Yes indeed, the subject of this post is “Political Ignorance.”

I don't believe in a "living, breathing document". Our founding fathers were intelligent men and excellent writers, but they were not poets. What they wrote was what they meant. There was no hidden meaning or ambiguity to their words, and with but a handful of exceptions there wasn't any wiggle-room.

I see the problem. You are assuming that politicians obey the Constitution. But we already know, they don't, and in fact don't even consider it. The effect is that the Republican portion of our government is lost, and only the representative Democracy remains.

you'll notice that this video comes from a Libertarian source. Libertarians are the last defenders of constitutional governance (with the exception of those who want no governance).

Libertarian or not, the subject is “Political Ignorance.” For anyone who thinks they are following or think they understand a system of government, and do not, are demonstrating “Political Ignorance.”
