A New Orleans police officer resigned Tuesday after coming under fire for offensive comments he posted to a news website about slain teenager Trayvon Martin.

Over the weekend, Jason Giroir, a 13-year veteran of the police department, took to a television station's site to offer his verdict on the death of the unarmed 17-year-old: "Act like a Thug die like one!"

Racism rears it ugly heard once again. And someone is dead. And the beat goes on. At least the chief of the NOPD acted with proper regard for the bigoted comments of an officer sworn to protect ALL of us in his precinct. Racism can not be tolerated.

There is no present day excuse for racism but blacks were the slaves and the ones dragged behind trucks and hanged from trees. Anger is understandable, just not excusable.

    Does this make us even?

White guy wanders into black neighborhood, gets beaten and stripped by black mob

Yes, I can understand the slavery stuff especially those who are still around from the 1800's who are still angry. The Romans enslaved everyone they could catch and the Chinese enslaved some Germans for a time. Do you see their descendents STILL bitching about it? What about Blacks being enslaved by other Blacks in present day Africa?

Here's another guy you make excuses for.
    Kill Whitey Interview

People such as you continually "pat" Black people on the head and say, "It's not YOUR fault. We are at fault because of slavery (147 years ago)." What a bunch of crap!

You can site example after example of blacks abusing whites but nothing NOTHING will ever make it even. You clearly don not understand both the scope and degree to which slavery and racism exists and its effect on the psyche of a generation go blacks in America. Your comments merely demonstrate your lack of empathy, and compassion. Clearly you missed the intent of my statement. Reviewing it for you to put it in better perspective is time wasted.

Yawn and eye-roll. No, you BORE me with that liberal crap that I have heard for the last 50+ years. "I'm Caucasian, it's MY fault." "Oh, my ancestors were slaves 150 years ago. You OWE me." Crap.

Cop or Not a Cop what ever happened to Free speech? we all may not agree with this Man's comments, but don't we all have the right to say things as this under Free Speech?
If this reflects on his Job Performance as being a bigot, thats one thing, but if Not, doesn't the Law protect him.???
  • Narcole... Jay0Byrd 2012/03/28 04:22:30
not if he's representing himself as a cop. Many employers would frown on someone speaking opinions about anything and seeming to give it the stamp of approval of their employers.

True anyone with a public job as a Cop, should watch their mouth when in public, and not let their true colors shine thru... in any event free speech or not, he did let his true thoughts out on this... and yes I wouldn't want this ass` in my town in a Police car running around armed...

Agreed. That's why I'm waiting for the actual trial in a court rather than sentence being passed by Al "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton, Ed "He's Guilty" Schultz, or the MSNBC staff and crew. If he shot him for no cause, he goes to jail, and that would be a good thing. Bounty or not, the MAJOR accusation is racism or racial profiling. MSNBC just explodes and pushes harder and harder to make that case. However, they are selective in their accusations of racism. I doubt that I will ever hear anything said about what Williams said on the Ed Show...ever. The only racial animosity that can ever be generated has to come from Caucasians; from anywhere else, it's "understandable" of "justified". Just saying.
