The Los Angeles Police Department's Abused Child Unit is investigating the hanging death of a 4-year-old girl in Westchester, Calif.

While the LAPD does not believe foul play was involved, Officer Cleon Joseph explained to the Huffington Post that the child abuse unit investigates all unexplained deaths involving children under the age of 11. In this case, the incident has been deemed a "death investigation" as opposed to a "homicide investigation."

I'll wait to hear what the autopsy turns up... but how sad to lost a young life for any reason.

Oh no. My immediate reaction was how could there not be foul play, the I really thought about how little ones play and they are always climbing and grabbing things. And there are lots of things to grab at in a closet.
At 4 little children play alone for brief periods of time.
I am so sorry for that family and what they are having to endure. Awful tragedy. I hope they are handled gently as this is investigated.
