Police: Customer Shoots Would Be Store Robber
Police say a man who pulled out a gun and tried to rob a convenience store ended up getting shot in the head by a customer.
Goldsboro Police say 27-year-old Christopher Vann of
Faison attempted to rob the Kangaroo Express at 901 W. Grantham street
just after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say another customer, 26-year-old Maurice Lewis, saw the robbery taking place and shot Vann once.
Vann was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital and later
flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he is listed in
serious condition.
At the time of the incident, Vann was being sought by the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms for outstanding narcotics and
firearm violations.
After consulting with the Wayne County District Attorney's office, police say no criminal charges will be filed against Lewis.

Sounds like a really bad dude that will clog us the court system, again. Good for Lewis.

It's not a TOY. It's not some "tool of intimidation".
It's a life saving device, like your seat belt.
In this case, it was used correctly (and I would have done it too)
