A pizza shop in Virginia Beach has a new penny-wise policy; eat for cheap if you're packin' heat! According to owner Jay Laze, exercising your 2nd amendment by flashing a handgun or a concealed weapons permit triggers a 15% discount. Is this buckshot-business, or a pathetic, pea-shooting plan?

I do believe I misunderstood the question when I clicked "pathetic." Whoops. Give me a little deference for being an old lady.

I think it's a great way to maintain "the proper attitude" in this country; i.e., patriotism isn't a nasty word anymore. Bravo to Mr. Laze for a novel idea. I hope it sparks a huge spike in his business!

These businesses are choosing to enjoy a benefit of the free market. As it is their right to do. They are both gaining and giving, a service for a discount. These people have decided to offer a discount to anyone who scares off robbers. Sounds fair.

Please don't judge us all by these who are on the fringe of our society Nudenz. (They seem to have decided that this site is where they all want to gather). The vast majority of Americans do indeed want to end the violence that is permeating our country at the present. They interpret the 2nd Amendment to their own satisfaction and have built a powerful lobby that scares the bejesus out of cowardly politicans. You have to consider the source and the sources you see on here are not in the majority.

Also not a suitable place for kids, what a dumb and potentially dangerous idea. The whole point of a concealed weapons permit and concealed weapon is self-defence, not a discount on a darn pizza.

Yes, in gun free zones they are less likely to bring them out or even fire them due to their more serious nature, their higher price on the black market, the fact ownership alone sticks out like a badge of guilt and the fact the professionals like the police see them more instead of the public.
