Phyllis Schlafly: "Minority Births Are ‘Not A Good Thing’" - Do You Agree?

Top Right-Wing Group: Minority Births Are ‘Not A Good Thing’ Because They ‘Don’t Share American Values’

Yesterday, the New York Times reported on new census data which showed, for the first time, that non-white births made up over 50 percent of all births in the United States last year.

It marked an important milestone, indicative of a changing United States that has long been considered the world’s melting pot. Or, if you’re the conservative, Phyllis Schlafly-backed Eagle Forum, it’s a clarion call that America is in grave danger of being overrun by uneducated, un-American brown people:

It is not a good thing. The immigrants do not share American values, so it is a good bet that they will not be voting Republican when they start voting in large numbers.
[...]
Instead, the USA is being transformed by immigrants who do not share those values, and who have high rates of illiteracy, illegitimacy, and gang crime, and they will vote Democrat when the Democrats promise them more food stamps.

Setting aside for a minute the offensive way in which the Eagle Forum dismisses all of “the immigrants” as thoughtless criminals, it’s telling that The Eagle Forum views this as simply a political problem. The Eagle Forum’s political allies have long insisted on treating immigrants as second-class citizens, and rather than pivot their policy proposals to better accommodate the nation’s shifting demographics, the group seems instead to want to curb minorities’ procreation.

The Eagle Forum doesn’t dwell on the fringes of the conservative movement either. The group still wields considerable influence in conservative circles, and has achieved more than a few legislative victories, like derailing the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970s and staunchly opposing bills aimed at protecting a women’s right to choose.

The post goes on to accuse immigrants — and, for reasons passing understanding, The New York Times for reporting on this — of seeking to “destroy the American family,” arguing that immigrants do not share American values. Of course, this is hardly the first time The Eagle Foundation has pushed xenophobia.

So whats the excuse for the UK's problem, or say Ireland, or maybe Greece, all white countries, or even here, up until 3 years ago it was a white dominant power structure, so whats the deal with these countries?

Or why is it that Israel needs our money, again a white country. You really dont want to get into this with me[...]

I live in the UK so so I'll say multiculturalism, cultural relativism, illegal immigration, Eastern Europeans coming into Britain which the government under estimated and other new EU countries when put a strain on the taxpayer, public resources: hospitals, schools, councils, housing and yes crime and disease. Then there is the problem we have with a significant amount of Muslims.

Wrong: Israel has roughly 40% of its Jewish population that are of Arab ancestry "Arab-Jews". There were approximately 800,000-900,000 of them ethnically cleansed from Arab lands and their property seized until this very day estimated to be worth between $3 billion and $300 billion. Incidentally Arabs aren't a race and most depending on what you would call "white" aren't. Its about culture and Jewish identity.

There are more Black-Jews in Israel than anywhere else in the world. Israel even gave full democratic rights to Black Africans fleeing Arab Muslim genocide in Sudan. It has at least 30,000 illegal Black Eritreans in Israel that bypass other Black/Arab countries to come to Israel. This is even though Israel is as small as New Jersey and a population of around 7 million. Then there are 20% of the Israeli population is non-Jewish Arab. Do they maths, it can hardly be described as a "white" country. The majority of Jews are not 'white but Semitic people.' I would like to show you the Israeli census. I'm sure that you will dismiss the links but I'll provide them anyway. I'm not even going to mention the Vietnamese Boat people Israel saved, gave citizenship when other nations left them for dead or the Chinese-Jews or Indian-Jews.

As the 70% of the $3 billion of loan guarantees Israel has to invest into US high tech defense helping keep it at the worlds cutting edge or the thousands of US not Israeli jobs that it directly supports. Then bare in mind Israel pays all monies back on time and in full moreover that "aid/loan guarantees" are nothing compared to what it gives the Muslims and Arab world that don't always pay the US back. Ever thought about Egypt $ 2billion alone and the Arabs the default? I didn't think so.

I can support every one of my statements. So what is it don't trust my sources or do you think the US is "giving US money away" out of altruism or its of not of US benefit or its only US money to Israel that is the problem? I await a response. In fact I await you to respond to a what I've written previously rather than side track and go off topic about things you evidently don't have a clue about.

That's right I'm not a cultural relativist. I believe not all cultures let alone religions are as valid and equal as others. There are some simply those that are superior and aspects of others inferior. Obviously if one takes in those from undesirable countries/cultures and they don't assimilate and breed like rabbits it damages the country. If you don't want to take my word for it take the Prime Minister or Trevor Phillips of Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC)

"A white country (Israel)" - more proof you don't have a clue and have a chip on your shoulder with colour. Do the maths and at least define what is "white" and what is "Semite" most Jews are Semitic. And I don't suffer from "white" or colonial guilt. So this "white dominant power structure" - with affirmative action, scholarships, just don't cut it with me at least in the last 30 or so years. And look at the post colonial "black power structure" (whatever that is) the continent is regressing. What's their excuse? In case i haven't spelled it out sub-saharen Africa.

Again, name at least five black or brown majority countries post colonialism that are comparable to the West, Japan, China or are an example of good governance, I'll wait?

If you want more I've got more facts to make your head spin.

This "is why" I think you are a conservative. Comments like "is everyone that doesn't speak Spanish a conservative" is what makes you different from us. We'd never even consider something like that. As for being closed minded it isn't us who think men should get paid more for doing the same job then women, that's conservatives. It isn't us who think gays shouldn't have the same rights as straights, that conservatives. It isn't us who thinks gays in the military should have to hide the fact they are gay if they want to serve, that's conservatives. It isn't us who think unions shouldn't have collective bargining rights that's conservatives. It isn't us that doesn't think renewable energy should be more included in our energy policies, that's conservatives. Your the closed minded ones. Very convenient for your labeling program and judgments.

I asked you if all people that don't speak Spanish are conservatives because that is the only thing that you know about me.

I do not fit your stereotype in the slightest.

I have nothing against gay people being gay and never wanted to rip any rights form them. Again I am from NYC and have many gay friends and spent a lot of time partying the night away at The Limelight, The Tunnel and the Twilo with the gays. I have attended gay weddings.

My company has union contracts and I have worked at the Jacob Javit's center for years.

I didn't get the memo about being against renewable energy. I am very interested in the science behind it as I went to NYU for engineering and design as well as SNP and DCC.

I'm a progressive i look forward and when I look back it's to make sure I don't make the same mistake twice. See now from some of your comments here you don't sound conservative, maybe you're like me. I'm conservative when it comes to spending but liberal on social issues and progressive in my way of forward thinking. I only have problems with closed minded bigots. Other than that I have many conservative friends who don't agree with me politically but we remain friends because even though we don't agree on some things we can respect each others opinions.
I still say that speaking spanish comment was what I'd expect from a conservative. A liberal would never say that. That being said if I was wrong about you I apologize.

The speaking spanish statement should appear different in the context of the longer thread but I know what you are saying. A stereotypical conservative trying to impress a group would throw out a statement like that and then depending on the outcome decide what it meant.

I try not to label myself since the country always takes extreme polar opposites. For example I am pro life. Now the extreme would have me declaring that ending a pregnancy even to save the mother is murder, but I think that is ridiculous. I am pro life in that I think abortion should be avoided if possible and the government should help with education and medical. I laugh at the churches stance on abortion since humans only live at most to 100, so if they go the heaven early why do they care? Wheres the faith?

    and I believe in Euthanasia

I do come off conservative but not in my acceptance of people and their pursuit of happiness. Would the writers of the constitution really care if gays got married? They were sure to state that the government cannot interfere.

I don't align myself with any of the thug political parties. As far as I am concerned they should be abolished and each person should stand on their merit rather than who they know, who their Dad is and the backing of corrupt systems that can't be changed.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that the increase in some minorities will be a decline in society. I read somewhere that so called 'white' Americans will be a minority by around 2050.
Look around and look at the dumps where the minorities come from - be it Latin-America, the Caribbean or Africa because that is how the US will become if they get free reign.

If you want to see want a brown/black majority country will be like look around you and find a single one or even five that is a example of good governance or that is even comparable to a Western white, Japanese, 'Western' indigenous majority country.

I'll leave you with Nobel Prize winning Economist Professor Milton Friedman regarding Slavery and Colonialism:

    Hi Chaya
I think you misread my post.
I believe that this invasion is destroying our country.
The democrats are doing there best to get the illegals registered to vote. In America you need ID to cash your paycheck and just your word that you are an American to vote.

I agree too many of some peoples with alien and incompatible cultures and values will inevitably change the fabric of a country especially of they are from some countries that will remain nameless.

I think its the types of people, their cultures and whether they will assimilate. Just look at Europe and Britain to see how bad things are over here. People will obviously cry "racist, xenophobe" when in fact I think countries are better that are diverse but its about accepting the host majority norms and assimilating. Heck I'd be worried if a particular group, with a particular culture/religion that didn't assimilate would do to my country especially when I look at some countries and aspects of some cultures. Its reasonable to be apprehensive.

The Ottomans will not assimilate. They will sooner blow themselves up at a daycare center.

I am not racist at all. I just know that when a person is raised in a particular manner it is very rare that they would evolve past it.

The Ottomans don't exist any more they are Turks to the best of my knowledge. Turkey is is mostly a good country with good people they have an Islamist government.

    They occupy Northern Cyprus.
    Some 8000 Greek-Cypriots disappeared.
They deny the genocide of 1.5 million Armenians.
They imprison more journalists than any other nation.
    Imprison children often without charge.
They have killed bordering genocide of Kurdish people.
They have denied the Kurdish people the right of self-determination, had made it illegal for a Kurd to name their child a Kurdish name. They tried to erase the language, culture and history - that's genocide.
They have a gross human rights record measurably worse that Israel.
They make incursions into a sovereign state massacring Kurds.
They have even made a law making it 'illegal to insult Turkishness.
They have threatened to expel all remaining Armenians should the genocide issue be raised.
