The fact that American Navy SEALs captured and killed Osama bin Laden -- the leader and conspirator of the 9/11 terrorist attacks -- is something worth celebrating.

The photos above are of the mansion in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where bin Laden hid -- so much for the mountains in Afghanistan -- and the place where he was inevitably killed.

Now that Osama bin Laden is dead, however, the question has to be asked.

Doesn't it seem if he was living in plain site in Pakistan that we should have been able to get to him sooner?

Keep in mind the million-dollar compound had 12 to 18-foot walls, it was exponentially larger than other homes in the area and it was just off a major highway, but had no phones. Not to mention expensive cars and SUVs were seen often going in and out of the driveways.

The timing is interesting, politically as the ratings fall and it does take the attention off the birth certificate thing.

Bush should have got him a long time ago , but he got distracted with other things,
like the dumb war in Iraq & he actually gave up on catching Bin Laden after a few
years. Bush's staff got some clues then , but didn't do much with it. Obama's staff got more clues & they were able to put it together & figure out where he was.

He's been living there for 5 years, his wife testified and hasn't left the compound in that whole time. The Pakistanis must have had at least an inkling of his whereabouts and certainly the Bush administration with all their torture techniques might have known also . So why did it take till now to get him ? Perhaps we'll never know . But at least it's done and over with .

We were looking in caves. He was in a mansion in a rich suburb. He should have hid in Arlington, VA they would have never found him there. If he had donated enough money to the Politicians and PACs here, he could have operated indefinately and been protected by Black Water.

He was one slippery SOB. It's hard to say if we could have. But, make no mistake about it, the ISI and the military in Pakistan knew where he was since 2006. We need to hold hearings to re-examine our relationship with Pakistan and if it's worth our while to give them $2 billion in aid every year, when we're fighting over funding women's health in our domestic budget.

Bush had more of an inside track to Bin Laden, since Bush family & Bin Laden family were
pretty close for generations . That might have been reason Bush didn't find him & gave up .

There was no proof that Bin Laden died before , just a few rumors .
There is proof this time that they got him , like DNA & his wife was witness
& Navy Seals as witnesses & some have seen his picture of his dead body.
