This is what government is all about. Forget roads, mass murder through warfare, or locking people up for their consumption choices: it's making sure that no one gives out water without a permit.

lol, she doesn't need a vending permit to exercise the first amendment (do i need to copy and paste that down for you?) nor does she need a vending permit to give out FREE water! if it was tickets to the program id agree with you but its watera commodity and a necessity which we should get for FREE! unless you can proove you need a permit to ive out water, stop saying the same thing over and over.

I didnt know that speech and religion needed to be regulated too.

And honestly, no they dont. People have their own duty to keep themselves safe, and the government should not get involved until a crime is committed and punish the criminal to the full extent of the law.
What you are promoting is guilty until proven innocent, while our country should stand by the principle of innocent until proven guilty.

I am not promoting anything but saying everyone is bound by the same rules when it comes to festivals and the like.
If a business was to hand out free water to help promote their business they would still need a permit like everyone else there so why should some religious person be an exception to that rule. Would you say the same thing if it was a Muslim or an Atheist?
Sorry I just don't believe religions should get special treatment.

And I say citizens should never need a permit to give our free water, nor should they need a special permit to exercise these rights.

In fact, under common law licenses and permits are permission from the government to perform an illegal activity, so for me to accept your defense of the state, I have to accept that free speech and freedom of religion are illegal.

even if it wasn't religion, people don't need a permit to give away free stuff. People have the right their beliefs without being required a permit. This is part of free speech and free exercise of religion.

They didnt SWAT team her? Wow, they are slipping. If that had been in California they would have had her face down in the concrete surrounded by DHS.

My son was walking around in Goodyear some years back, dehydrated and on the verge of collapse. If he hadn't been stopped and hospitalized by the police, who knows what could have happened.
Besides, the city ordinance does not cover "giving away", but only selling. Grierson had no business interfering with, or obstructing, Dana Crow-Smith from "giving away" her property.

On the face of it, it sounds absurd, but like many stories it only barely scratches the surface... Question: If she was "prosletyzing"....was she requiring someone to listen to a religious speech before receiving a bottle of water....or was she just passing it out ...out of the goodness of her heart.

If it was out of the goodness of her heart....the city of Pheonix needs to get a grip.

They did it because she's a Christian. If she were a Democrat or member of some other heathen religion, she would have gotten a letter of commendation from Comrade First Lady Michelle Obama.

Can we decrease the scope of government just a little bit?

I am a right winger who disagrees with the 'you didn't build that' narrative.

I don't want ZERO government, I want a minimum of government and this is reason 1,927 why I want government smaller.

Not the whole state, but only a few idiots. Maybe he had a case of heat stroke and needed water himself.

No one in their right mind wants no government. I do however want the federal government limited to those powers enumerated in the Constitution. For that I am considered a radical extremist.
