His call for forced voting comes in an op/ed for Bloomberg News:

It’s our own fault -- because voter participation rates are running below 60 percent, a candidate would have to win 85 percent or more of the vote to be elected by a majority.

Compulsory voting, as exists in Australia and more than two dozen other countries, would fix that problem. As William Galston of the Brookings Institution argues, “Jury duty is mandatory; why not voting?”

And just how does the idiot plan to enforce it? obama had to hire an additional 16,000 IRS agents to enforce Ocare, how many thousands more will be needed to make sure everyone in the whole entire Country votes? Libs are either nuts or in a panic. I say both!

Omg. FORCED voting? We have too many uninformed and apathetic people voting now, can you IMAGINE that one???

The uninformed would treat voting for president the same way they do tele-voting for their favorite variety show contestant - it would become a mindless popularity contest.

Mandatory voting does not exist in the U.S. because we believe people should be free to vote or not vote. Attempting to legislate the finer details of our lives is what liberalism is all about. It's also the main reason I'm a Conservative.
