Speaker Pelosi tells democrats to sacrifice their career for the unpopular health care bill.
(At 2:50 mark)
“They know that it will take courage to pass health care. But why are
we here? We’re not here just to self-perpetuate our service in
Congress. We’re here to do the job for the American people to get them
results that gets them not only health security but economic security
because the health issue is an economic issue for America’s families.”
Pelosi tells democrats to sacrifice their careers for Obamacare.
The AP reported:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged her colleagues to back
a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their
political careers, a call to arms that underscores the issue’s massive
role in this election year.Lawmakers sometimes must enact policies that, even if unpopular at
the moment, will help the public, Pelosi said in an interview being
broadcast Sunday the ABC News program “This Week.”
“We’re not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress,” she said. “We’re here to do the job for the American people.”I think she meant to say, “To do a job ON the American people.”
"It took courage for Congress to pass Social Security and Medicare,
which eventually became highly popular", she said, “and many of the same
forces that were at work decades ago are at work again against this
bill.”“It took courage for Congress to pass Social Security and Medicare”
It would take wisdom for Congress to fix the problems they already
created before launching another huge entitlement program we can’t
afford. Thanks to Lyndon B. Johnson opening up the
Social Security vault in 1965, both Social Security and now Medicare
are BROKE. And she wants that very same government to run health care
for 300 million people? These idiots can’t even run the Post Office out of deficit spending and they want more power. The government fails at everything it takes over and tries to run.
Personally, I don’t want Politicians, Democrat OR Republican running anything. Their track record is pathetic. Government will run health care like they run the DMV or the aftermath of Katrina.
Or worse, because it's much bigger.
Expenses will spiral out of control, corruption will flourish, and the product or services you get in return for the money that is taken from you in ever-more taxes will plummet.
The government will use nationalized health care and nationalized medical records for political reasons and to exert control over the people by intimidating them. One last thing you should all be aware of:
From Weekly Standard, in December, from the Senate bill:
- “it shall not be in order in the senate or the house of
representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or
conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this
subsection.”Can’t.
Be.
Repealed.Yes, go ahead follow the mental case Pelosi. Hell hath no fury like the
people scorned. We will surround the Capitol, and not let you leave.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been at the center of media coverage for a while now. But more recently, the buzz has been about his proclaimed political party -- and whether or not he should change it.
