A Delaware pediatrician and his wife are facing several felony charges, including "first-degree reckless endangering," according to USA Today, quoting state police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Founier.

The 11-year-old, interviewed by detectives and state social workers didn't know why her father was punishing her. The daughter told police she "could never understand what she did to be punished" and felt scared. She went on to explain that her father, "would hold her face under running water, causing the water to fill her nostrils and over her face."

The incidents allegedly took place at the kitchen sink, bathroom sink and bathtub faucet, according to court records. Do you think prison would be punishment enough for the dad?

The prison wouldn't necessarily be his punishment....the other prisoners would be. I am absolutely aghast at this 'man' and his wife (can't bring myself to call her 'Mother').

he should be "waterboarded" everryday. and that woman too. any woman that lets her child be abused and does nothing about it is guilty.
God bless that little girl and please pray that she gets placed with some people that will love and appreciate her.

But hey its not water boarding its called enhanced interrogation, all he wanted was some information. You guys think that is bad, there is a couple in South Carolina who punishes their daughter by making her wear a dog shock collar, making her sleep in a old chicken and feeding her bread water for days. All because the bible says they can. Figure that one out if you can.

i cant believe anyone is offended.....i thought america was the land of freedom to beat your children .....goes on all tha time and ppl who smack their kids around will rabidly defend doing so. waterboarding is simply another form of child abuse that he wouldnt have even known about if he hadnt learned it from the good ole usa. people who survive this and accepted forms of child abuse get a lifetime of miserable stumbles and falls as they try to recover from this sh#t, usually while blaming and abusing themselves in the process, AND allowing too many others to do so as well......yep, been there, done it, learned to protect and help smaller, weaker or more vulnerable beings. AND how to fight....

Maybe the father was confused and thought water-boarding as punishment or training was okay, looking at the government for the example.

Sadly it has to be because of the Constitutional prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment.

However, the daughter and any other children they may have should be taken away permanently for their safety.

Maybe we should wait for a trial before debating the proper penalty??

Okay, so IF the accusations are true, he should be surgically altered so that a flap of skin in his throat is constantly falling down and blocking his airway so that he has to struggle to breathe 24/7, and each night fear that he will die in his sleep.

I think that would be fair.
