- Steve Boston 2012/07/01 03:10:26Foul+1I should think the police would commend her for warning people to maintain a safe speed within posted limits. But its all about revenue. Nothing to do with public safety. It's all about revenue. Stupid Humans In Transit prevails.reply
- steven 2012/07/01 03:06:26Foul+1Obviously the police are not out to get people to stop speeding or they would recognize that this individual was doing exactly that. They should be on the same team in that regard. Reminding people to slow down to avoid being ticketed is good advice and you even see ads on TV to that effect. However, THE REAL GOAL HERE WAS TO RAISE REVENUE! The person was jailed for interfering with the raising of revenue, plain and simple. I call that shameful behavior on the part of the police. And it is deceptive on their part to lie about it.reply

- Shadow 2012/06/30 22:52:13Foul+1That is messed up... Why cant the police just go and so something productive instead of randomly ticketing speeding people? I think that the woman who did that shouldnt have been thrown in jail. Its not illegal to hold a sign.reply
- sally 2012/06/30 21:37:41Foul+1I didn't know there was a law about it. I'll tell people if I see a cop car waiting around in some place all the time so they know to be extra careful there.reply
- shay:) 2012/06/30 21:20:02Fair+1We civiliians have to watch out for each other :)reply
- Mike 2012/06/30 18:14:01Foul+1I would think that would fall under the constitutional right of freedom of speech?reply
- Bill 2012/06/30 18:01:26Foul+1Foul !!! The cops use those speed traps as a source of revenue ,They have nothing to do with. good police work. How many stolen cars went past them that they missed. how much dope went past them that the heroes didn't find. How many wanted criminals went their merry way, while the cops were writing Grandmom Wilson a $300 ticket for being 8 mph over the limit .reply
- ~writersblock~ 2012/06/30 17:19:25 (edited)Fair+2Freedom of speech. Meant to click foul.reply
- Risk 2012/06/30 17:07:08Fair+2People going WELL over the speed limit should get a ticket ! She wasn't really being helpful except to people who choose to disobey the laws.reply
- bags the Indigenous Guru 2012/06/30 17:00:55Foul+2I always flash my lights to let oncoming traffic known that there is a cop ahead. Makes them aware, if it slows them down, then good. If not, then at least others will be aware of the situation ahead and the cop may not get hit while standing in the road. happens more often than it should and we have real twisty turny roads, hard to see around corners.reply
- lucythetooth 2012/06/30 16:49:04Foul+3She was walking down the sidewalk holding a sign. That's not illegal, and if it is, then why haven't these idiots been arrested yet?
reply - Wolverineland 2012/06/30 16:46:56Foul+2We used to do that as kids. I'd hate to think about going to jail for something so stupid.reply
- SteveMarine- JLA 2012/06/30 16:36:56Fair+1Believe it or not... Thats considered interfering with an officer... Its also illegal to flash your headlights warning people of a license check or a police officer hiding ahead.... Its usually just a small fine...reply
- ♌βļąƈʞƦơșƐ3033♌ 2012/06/30 16:25:21Fair+1Civilians aren't supposed to do that. It was only twelve hours, not twelve days. He'll get over it.reply
- Christopher Kirchen 2012/06/30 16:10:12Undecided+1One could make a case that it's interfering with an ongoing police "investigation", but one could also make the case the police acted excessively and abridged the sign holder's freedom of speech. Myself I am usually on the side of the law, reply
- william raggett 2012/06/30 16:09:24Foul+2She should sue for false arrest. They say she was endangering herself by putting herself in the way of traffic so why not just ask her to leave?reply
- SK-LIBERTY OVER EQUALITY 2012/06/30 15:57:29Fair+1We all hate speed traps but the law is the law. it's just like flashing your headlights to warn drivers. That's my opinion and sticking to it.reply
