Paul takes 22 Nevada GOP delegates; Romney gets three

SPARKS -- GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul on Sunday nearly swept
all of Nevada’s delegates to the national convention as his supporters
swamped Mitt Romney backers at the state Republican convention.

Paul won 22 Nevada delegates to three for Romney, according to
official vote tallies released early Sunday as the overtime convention
extended into a second day to finish business.

Another three official Nevada delegates not up for election -- the
state party chairman, the current national committeeman and national
committeewoman -- are expected to support Romney.

That would send 22 Paul delegates and six Romney delegates from Nevada to the national convention Aug. 27-30 in Tampa, Fla.

Its no longer a question a question of a vote for Romney is a vote against the Obama. It's becoming quite clear that a vote for Romney is a vote against Ron Paul.

I can only wonder why such devotion for a man who offers nothing but the same. One who is just as un-constitutional ... Why would anyone allow evil to continue under the guise of supporting Romney as a viable choice for change?

though for this to truly help wouldnt it have to reach the second round?
  • rdmatheny SirWence 2012/05/06 19:35:06
Yes. All the wins right now with delegates including the win in Maine today are to take this to the convention. Many projections show Romney will not have the 1144 delegates needed to secure the nomination before convention. If Romney does not get the votes necessary in the first round as some are saying its likely, then it will go to 2nd round where the majority of the bound delegates will become unbound and the majority of those delegates are Ron Paul supporters.
