When there are only two that can possibly win no matter what your feelings are, if you vote for anyone other than one of the two, you are in fact voting for one or the other.
Your vote gives one or the other the upper hand.
If you don't want Obama and you don't vote for Romney, your vote is in the plus column for Obama. It is that simple. This has a been a political strategy for many many years. When the vote is close, make sure there is a cast away vote that will clinch the incumbent.
This does not mean that Paul or any other listed candidate is bad, its just business. You either vote for the winner out the only two or you might as well stay home

As I understand it, if a candidate gets 50% plus 1 vote they win that state. So I get that part of it, but I don't think that we should get into the habit of not voting for the person that you think could do a better job. If everyone votes for who they want not who think will win or could if they voted for them the system might work a little better. As it stands now a lot of people are buying into what the media is telling them and not voting for who they want.

Actually, I'm not at all "undecided". As a lifelong libertarian, I will vote for my party's candidate, if Paul is not on the ballot as a genuine candidate. Liberty minded candidates like Ron Paul, would be the ONLY possible reason for me to EVER vote republican, as the republican party has been co-opted by neoconprog pond scum for decades.

Well, at least you are loyal. I personally like Gary Johnson over all the others, But I know we HAVE to get rid of the 60's radical before we can get headed in a better direction. So holding my nose, I will vote for Romney if he is the candidate. In four years, perhaps there will be enough people awake and maybe the Tea Party will have gained more clout. Then we can vote for the BEST candidate.

I see no substantial difference between the two, and firmly believe Romney will do the exact same sort of things as Obama, extending his policies and enacting further restrictions on the rights of the people.

I don't. I'm working to see we get more constitutional conservatives in Congress. If we have plenty GOOD conservatives in Congress, whomever is president will be forced to deal with them, it would just be easier if it were Romney then Barry.

You are of course, entitled to your opinion, and I respectfully disagree. Unless an extremely large number of those in congress, and those coming in, will suddenly be willing to become ethical, changing how things are done from inside will be impossible. Plus, Romney's principles have changed so often, that is impossible to know where he stands on anything, and I don't how anyone deals with that.

I think the Tea Party Candidates we got in in '10 are great, just not enough of them and the Senate is a roadblock. We need the senate and house and LOTS of Tea Party Candidates in there.

You are absolutely right. The great importance of this election is getting constitutional conservatives into the House and Senate. The presidency is important too of course, but I feel too many folks aren't seeing the whole picture.

As I have stated time and time and time again, in every thread I've discussed this on, I see no substantial difference between the two, and cannot in good conscience, vote for either one. It's just that simple, and no amount of cajoling, denigrating, or backbiting by the supporters of either candidate will change my mind. My integrity is more important to me, than the imagined fears of the fearful.
