I'm going to get a CTO day and get out the popcorn and watch the debate between Ryan and Biden. This is going to be fun.

Before Paul Ryan, a lot of folks in the middle were saying that a vote for Romney is barely different that re-electing Obama. Now, with Paul Ryan on the ticket, the ideological line has been firmly drawn in the sand. There can no longer be any question that there are two very clear choices this fall. I think it was a great pick.

It's a perfect match. Romney is a businessman, Ryan is a pubic servant. Romney is a RINO who has be pressured into going to the right, Ryan is Tea Party all the way. Romney is a good speaker, Ryan is a GREAT speaker and matches or surpasses Obama's intellect in every way. On top of that he's civil with Democrats, which will turn Obama's vicious attack ads against him. With Ryan on the ticket there's actually a possibility of getting something done in this country.

Liberals should have been more careful in what they wished for.

In all honesty I'm hoping that after Romney wins he'll die of a heart attack and Ryan will take his place.

I'd love to see Paul Ryan and Joe Arpaio on the 2016 ticket.

Thank God that didn't happen. I'll be damned if my party is gonna get hijacked by more Latino pandering politicians. Guaranteed loss for Romney if he had gone in that direction.

Well I like Marco Rubio. He has a good head on his shoulders. I hope he will eventually run for president. Being Cuban, he sees politics from a different perspective.

The one and only reason Rubio would ever be elected would be to appeal to Latinos, who will never for any reason vote Republican. I'm glad that Romney was wise enough to finally figure that out.

The last thing in the world Republicans needed was a Hispanic pandering VP. If Rubio was the choice a lot of Republicans (including me) would have refused to vote. And what's wrong with privatizing Medicare? Doesn't look to me like the government's doing a very good job.

Under Obamacare medicare is decided by each state and at least 12 are cutting it altogether. Ryan's plan privatizes it which will make it run 1000 times more efficiently with a lot less fraud.

Same way its done now. The only difference is a private company manages it instead of the government. If anything the coverage will be better and still free to seniors. Obamacare will result in states dropping it altogether.

Actually, seniors currently do pay for Medicare. It's deducted monthly from their social security just like any health insurance premium.

Medicare is a tax that each of us pay through Social Security tax practically since we started working. Those already in the 50s, once you've paid 40 quarters (10 years) into Social Security you will be vested. Medicare will start at age of 65 whether or not you already get the social security checks and you'll be billed $125.00 by the government. Those born starting at the year 1946, you'll get your Social Security checks monthly at the age 66. Once you get your SS checks, each month $125.00 will be deducted automatically from them as your premium for your Medicare. You'll get the Medicare card one month before your 65th birthday. With that, you'll go anywhere to get medical care and other than your monthly premium, you also pay $165.00 deductible each year but unless you buy Medicare Part D, you can't get your medicines paid by Medicare. Medicare only pay for health and hospitalization costs but not medicines. Whereas Medicaid, you'll contribute for the indigents through your State Tax. You don't get Medicaid unless you are poor (must show proof of income) regardless of age or under 65. Since Social Security and Medicare are broke, Paul Ryan was suggesting for all the younger people (under 50) to start thinking of the privatization of the Medicare so that you would...

Since Social Security and Medicare are broke, Paul Ryan was suggesting for all the younger people (under 50) to start thinking of the privatization of the Medicare so that you would be able to get Medicare after you reach the age of 65. He is just suggesting but the liberals erroneously started frightening Senior citizens that they would not get their SS checks or Medicare benefits. Totally false. If you were born after 1960, unless the government changes the SS and Medicare system, you may not be able to get either benefits as the money is supposed to run out (don't know when exactly) since the government have been BORROWING from the Social Security account to fund entitlements. A private company will do their fiduciary duties not to "borrow" or raid the social security/medicare funds. A lot safer than the government who can't run even a post office. The last quarter they have a $5.9 B (billions) shortfall. They could not pay the pension entitlements of the USPS employees. A lot of current senior citizens however are not even aware that the Obama administration had taken $700 B (yes billions) from Medicare to fund the Obamacare even if it is not effective until 2014 (if the House ever approve to fund it). Some astute seniors already noticed that their doctors have been paid less this year compared to last year, because of the cut and their medical procedures have to be vetted by the Independent Payment Advisory Board in DC before being approved by Medicare. Yes, the rationing already started under the radar. Repeal Obamacare is the first thing we all have to do. Hope this clarify your questions.

Glad you agree. We all have to discover the truth ourselves. Do not leave it to the Dems who are spreading demagogueries, especially Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the chairman of DNC, who are scaring all the seniors all over the media outlets, especially those seniors who are not inclined to know or too old to find out the truth, that their SS checks and Medicare benefits are safe. What Rep. Ryan was suggesting was ways to save Medicare for those BELOW the age of 55.

Oh really? LOL I am 65, who are you trying to teach? I do not think medicare or SS should be messed with. What they should cut is welfare and rent subsidy, and they'll be lots of money to use on better things.
  • Fashion... mustang... 2012/08/15 13:46:51

If you are 65 then you are already on Medicare and your Social Security will come at 66 unless you had decided to collect early, in that case, Medicare premium will be deducted from your Social Security payment. I am not trying to teach you anything. We should worry more about Obamacare since it WILL impact both our Social Security and your Medicare. Remember, Obamacare has planned to use Medicare to fund 1/3 of its costs, so they took $717 Billion ALREADY from Medicare even if it would not be implemented (if Congress funds it) until 2014. As a result, you'll notice from your quarterly Medicare statements that your doctors have received less reimbursements from Medicare. What Paul Ryan suggested was to save Medicare for the FUTURE generation, those UNDER 55 (not over) since Medicare will be broke in 13-14 years. So, he suggested privatization of Medicare, have somebody other than the government to manage it in order for those younger than 55 to be able to benefit in the future. Yours and my Medicare is not going to be interrupted. Welfare and rent subsidy would be the State/City's problems, totally different issues, don't mix them up with Medicare which is run by our government.

What I notice is that i would say 80% of right wings always have to name call and act like America belongs only to them and that their way is the only way. That somehow they are entitled to it. There are bad things about both parties. Each time in history we have had a great depression or a recession a republican was in the white house. From 29, 87, 08 and others. You dont even like Roms you said you would not have voted for him if he picked Rubio. If you liked him then that would not matter to you. But you hate the other guy obama. That is something that tears down any country or society is the hate and not willing to work together. Yeah things arent great but this mess did not happen over night. It was the DEMS FAULT AND THE REPUBS FAULT AND GREED. Be proud to be a right wing extremist but you dont have to hate others to be that way because coming across that way just makes you look crazy to others and people will filter you that way instead of an extreme that might have some good points to talk about

To have ideas you may not agree with but understand that they cant get what they all want and I am not going to either. The dems have things that are wrong with their party too. The Republicans for sure do otherwise the would not be a tea party. I dont hate Romney and I dont Hate Obama. I dont agree with some of their ideas but I dont hate them and call them all kinds of names. You can hate anybody you want its your right but hate is not what builds
