I'm not impressed - I would have preferred one of the other choices with a wider appeal like Rubio or Christie

Rubio's a light weight while Christie has too many positions contrary to Republican orthodoxy. I disagree vehemently with Ryan but he's smart, articulate and willing to take positions - even if they're bad.

I can live with positions contrary to Republican orthdoxy. I do understand your point about Rubio though.

It's too bad there was not a choice with a deeper national resume and broad appeal.

Christie may be more of a Democrat at a national level than a Repubican. You can be a Blue State Republican that is actually a Democrat by National standards just like Red State Democrats are often closer to Republicans.

Actually I like Herman Cain.Who better than a mathematician for the department of the Navy and a successful businessman.

I know that people with actual experience is a hard thing for LWNJs to understand. Im for what ever we can do to fix the disaster we are in.

Curious that I so often hear a desire for 'business success' as a new qualification to be president.... Have we ever seen that work? (exhibit 1 - Herbert Hoover) I think public experience seems to have been the background of effective presidents left and right.

When you had to make a profit and be responsible for the success unlike the public sector where spending tax payers money does not come with consequences.

A businessman has had to have accountability their entire career whereas a career politician has not.

I agree on the differences but I think that doesn't make you a better public sector leader and maybe confuses you a little because without Wall Street or P and L you won't have anuy of the measurement tools you're used to. I just think they're two completely different mind sets and business people who have become President and even business persons who have taken governorships have a generally weak record.

My measurement of a president or vice president is their business success in their life. 0WEbama has no actual success in business what so ever.

Would you let 0WEbama take over your business? I would definitely let Romney manage mine if I had one.

If I wanted a business run I'd definitely want Romney. If I wanted tax advice maybe Romney or whoever does his taxes. And if Romney had been an effective Governor I might want him president. Unfortunately he was a substandard governor AND disavows those few things he got right. The closest thing we've had to a businessman as President lately is George Bush - I need speak no further! : )

Romney turned the usual DEMOCRAT deficit into a surplus as governor of Massachusetts. .

Mitt Romney worked to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply, and many others.

Romney is a PROVEN financial success and that is exactly what the country needs right now. You will vote for the PROVEN financial disaster that 0WEbama represents.

State budgets can't really have deficits (or at least the planned type financed by bonds like the Federal Government.) By definition as a Governor you ultimately balance the budget. In Romney's case a lot of that happened due to a Capital Gains Tax passed before he ever entered office allowing him to say that he both didn't raise taxes AND balanced the budget. Business turnarounds are good but a business man is essentially a dictator and can change things by decree while a politician needs to understand ... well...politics. It's like saying a good offensive lineman will make a good quarterback - they use different tools. His Olympic experience at politicking for a billion dollars of Federal bail out might be a good example of this but hardly one he wants to talk about. He's committing to growing (not just maintaining) military budgets and speaks of continued unlimited commitment to the money pit that is Afghanistan. It is in no way the time for additional tax cuts for the wealthy let alone for not allowing the Bush cuts to expire. He's encouraged and supported continued subsidies for big oil and encourages more fossil fuel use and seems to save his greatest affection for the dirtiest solutions. While he's accepted man made climate change in the past he's now kowtowing to the RWNJs in the party who deny this scientific fact. OBAMAs got some 'room to grow' but Romney's wrong on nearly all issues important to me and while I respect Ryan for addressing issues most are ignoring his unbalanced solution is not where we need to be.

Of course after I posed a FACTUAL post of 0WEbamas complete ineptness you have the BALLS TO DEFEND THE 0WEbama FAILURES.

Where's your factual listing of Obama's 'complete ineptness'? I traced your observations above and see very little mention of why you believe OBAMA is inept other than to say he wasn't a business person... So here's what I see.... Obama cam into office with economy shedding 750K jobs per month and shrinking at about 3%. Over the last three years we have moved to adding jobs and growth (both modestly). We've ended don't ask/don't tell, we've left Iraq and have a plan to leave Afghanistan. OBL (and many of his type) no longer roam the earth and both GM and Chrysler still do. We've made an initial pass at providing healthcare coverage (though the final compromise solution is not where we need to be). Stock market has doubled and deficits are decreasing. That doesn't seem a record of ineptitude.
