Ronald Reagan Talks About Patriotism
What do you think about Patriotism being alive and well in America? Do you think America's youth understand Patriotism? What do you see for America's future if we do nothing to improve individual patriotism?

- James October 21, 2010 02:36:12Yes, Patriotism is Alive and Well in America Today+1Patriotism is giving a damn for this country not some Third World Nation who poses no threat to us. I love this country and it's because I love this country that I think it needs to be tweaked and worked with to make it better.reply

I agree with 99% of what you said. It makes sense. Thanks.reply - James Judy October 21, 2010 17:31:51
+1Hey, 99% is better than 0%.reply -
FOR SURE!!!!reply - unicorn_lady1 October 20, 2010 21:53:46Yes, Patriotism is Alive and Well in America Today+1It is alive and well .. and under attack.reply

+1That sure is the truth, but we need to fight it. I'm working on a blog now to help with that task.reply - unicorn... Judy October 21, 2010 21:03:07
Great! Let me know when it is posted!reply - bags October 20, 2010 15:18:23Yes, Patriotism is Alive and Well in America Today+1On both sides of the aisle, that's what sometimes we forget in our diatribes at each other. We ALL love this country, we may disagree on the wording of a two hundred year old document..we may have differing views of the US - but that's the point, there's room for all of us here, we're all SUPPOSED to be here, thinking like this, interacting like this, working out our problems.......reply

+1Amen, got that right!reply -

+2My neighbor showed me a hatchet driven into one of the beams in his barn where his ancestor had driven it when he left the farm to fight for our country's birth. It had never been removed from that beam since he set it there. Oh, yes.....patriotism is alive. That hatchet is a serious motivating force for me, and others. I've had an American flag flying over my home 24/7 (illuminated) since 1965.reply - Captain... bags October 20, 2010 15:39:38

+2I grasped that handle, just as he would have when it was driven into that beam, stood 'in his shoes', as it were. He never came back from that war, and in his honor no one has removed that hatchet to this day. It really is awesome - just and old, somewhat rusty old hatchet driven into a support beam of a 200+ year old barn. Someone could so easily remove it and not realize what they had just done.reply - Captain... bags October 20, 2010 15:54:34
+1it would be a damn shame if somebody did remove itreply - bags Captain... October 20, 2010 15:59:16
+2It really would be, but it's the same family living in that house now as built it then. That hatchet is special to them for sure! If you were a fan of Colonial architecture, you'd LOVE this house.reply - Captain... bags October 20, 2010 16:03:37
+1the way you describe it i love it alreadyreply - bags Captain... October 20, 2010 16:07:11
+2Can you imagine living in a house that your family built and has occupied since the EARLY 1700's! It was what was called a 'frontier house', and a lush one, indeed. They were a wealthy family and held great aqcerage.reply - Captain... bags October 20, 2010 16:09:29
+1I can imagine that..it can be so sad to lose a house like that with all the history and memories of your familyreply - bags Captain... October 20, 2010 16:20:23
+2Hopefully, they won't have to worry about that. Heaven knows they don't have a mortgage!reply - Captain... bags October 20, 2010 16:22:36
+2god bless that house thenreply -
+1That's the type of comment I was looking for. I want to write an article about patriotism but I need some good stuff you people, if you don't mind me using your comments.reply - bags Judy October 20, 2010 16:38:43
+1Go right ahead, Judy. Use the story...it's a true one. I'd rather not give the family name, however. They don't need 'publicity'.reply -
+1That is such an awesome story. There isn't anything that can spell patriotism better than that!reply
