Yippee! But don’t hate me for being skeptical…almost seemed too easy. Acorn backwards… NROCA, National Radicals of Obama’s Czars for America. Surely they are planning something to shadow Acorn. Who will be next to get a bunch of funneled money to help with the big plan? Who will register dead people in 2012?

The entire legislature should've voted to repeal their funding. This is long overdue, as ACORN is an extremely partisan organization whose interests run counter to those of property-owners and tax-payers.

I think that since investigations and convictions have been going on since 1986 it's pretty pathetic that the actions of two idiot workers are the first thing that's stopping funding.

It does not show a pattern of abuse over that long of history?

Yes, it does. The reason why I say 1986 is because there were 12 convictions of voter fraud linked to ACORN that year in Missouri. In 1998 there was a contractor with ACORN-affiliated 'Project Vote' arrested for falsifying about 400 voter registration cards. The list goes on...it has quite a history.

Ah....I see! Sorry, I misread what you meant. Yes, it should have never gotten that far!

It is rediculous that Federal Funding go to any organization registering voters to ANY Polotical Party. You would think Congress would get that concept right off the bat!

....it seems that I recall hearing that ACORN has about 190 branches to it...all differently named...but still a part of the collective........without a serious congressional investigation I find it unlikely that the money valve will truly be turned off.........slowed yes...but not stopped.

I read somewhere today that no ACORN is claiming that the kids who did the taping talked them into "playing along". I ask then, why did they fire the peoole???

I hear Ya! You & I know that's crap! Wanna head into one somewhere and we will pretend we have 50K in Pot we'd be happy to get rid of for 30?

All this to me is just fuel for the fire to me! My stance is here, I am totally against any federal monies going to any organization to register voters! I also know that's part of your thinking with your answer about the vote.

What is that? We may not even be able to afford healthcare reform!

Here in a nutshell. The Federal Government should not fund ANY organization to register voters to ANY Political Party!

Why are government facilities used for political parties to nominate cadidates? Let the parties pay for that and rent facilities! Once that is done then of course the government hold an election.

This is alot of the problems around here! The government is involved in things and paying for things they have no business doing!

What is so valueable about the family values reaearch councile? Sounds like work that a perfectly fine University can do.

Nothing and thats the point, they do nothing that a University can do. But still you have some of teh biggest names in politics going there and re-enforcing their platform that sometimes its okay to be intolerant and sometimes its okay to lie and pander to people.

But your correct they add nothing of value to our political discourse, unlike Acorn which did and they did help the community no matter who you are and what you believe.
