[HANNIBAL, MISSOURI] A 9-month-old Yorkie named Rambo wasn’t about to leave without his master, even if it meant waiting alone at a Missouri rest area for two days. Arkansas trucker Michael Siau stopped at the rest area near Hannibal last Friday. Rambo jumped out of the big rig, but Siau, thinking the dog was in the back asleep, went ahead on his route. Siau made it all the way to Cedar Rapids, Iowa -- 170 miles to the north -- before realizing Rambo was gone. After several frantic calls, a Hannibal animal control officer found the little dog Sunday still at the rest stop, patiently waiting for Siau’s return. Siau and Rambo were reunited Wednesday, with the little dog leaping onto his shoulder and kissing his neck.

WOULD YOU DO ALMOST ANYTHING TO GET YOUR MISSING PET BACK?

Get out the Kleenex. Here's a picture of the happy reunion!

But waiting two days is nothing compared to guarding the Pandorica for 2000 years.

To many of us, that is like asking what we would do if our child was missing.

I totally agree with you. To most people, pets are irreplaceable members of the family, and we'd do anything for them, just like we would our kids. I just posted this article because I found it refreshing to read a feel-good story, as opposed to all the bad news we hear about on a daily basis. We DO love our pets, don't we? Thanks for your response, Jon, and have a great evening!

I love animals, so my answer to this question is a resounding YES! Our pets have always been considered family members. God bless all creatures great and small.

Yes, we've always thought of our pets as family members. I can't imagine how that truck driver must have felt when he realized his little traveling buddy had gone missing! It's rare that we hear a story with a happy ending these days, but this was certainly a feel-good tale! Thanks for your comments, sandra, and have a great weekend!

Though I must say, that dog there should in no way, shape, nor form be named Rambo.

Yes, I thought the irony of naming a tiny dog "Rambo" was cute, too!

We've always considered our pets as family members and treated them like children. I'm sorry to hear that you can't have kids, but pets can be wonderful companions that give and receive lots of human emotions. I can remember our one basset hound, Cookie, and when I'd cry or be upset, she always knew and would try to comfort me. God bless all creatures great and small! Thanks for your comments, my friend, and have a wonderful weekend!

    P.S. That's one good-looking pooch you've got there!

My mother keeps getting on my niece to get a microchip put into her pit bull. I told mom that the dog isn't going ANYWHERE. He has it too good at home to leave! Dogs are one of the best companions a person can have, and they do share our human emotions and are very intuitive about our feelings. There's a reason why dogs are called "man's best friend." Have a great weekend, my friend!

Somehow, I had a funny feeling that you'd answer YES to this question, judging from that fine-looking pooch in your avatar! Most people DO think of their pets as children, and for good reason. Animals ask for so little, yet they give us so much in return. Thanks for your response, rugrat!
